Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled metal plate having the excellent corrosion resistance, adhesiveness of a coating, corrosion resistance of an under coat and uniform gloss by a method wherein a metal plate to be treated is subjected to the electroplating in an alkaline Mn plating bath and, subsequently, treated by an aqueous solution containing phosphoric acid ion. CONSTITUTION:The metal plate to be treated is subjected to the electroplating treatment in an alkaline Mn plating bath. The obtained Mn plated metal plate is treated with an aqueous solution containing phosphoric acid ion, that is, an aqueous solution containing phosphoric acid or at least one or more of a water soluble salt thereof to produce the surface treated metal plate with excellent corrosion resistance and paintability. If this surface treated metal plate is used, a beautiful painted plate free from any paint irregulalities is obtained.
