Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a video signal from lagging a sound signal by comparing an input video signal to the synchronizing signal component of a reference video signal and by exercising readout control over a memory part according to the phase difference. CONSTITUTION:Synchronizing signal component Is extracted from input video signal VIP and synchronizing signal component Ss extracted from a reference video signal are both supplied to phase comparison part 14, which compares the phase difference between both the synchronizing signal components to a reference phase. This comparison output is supplied to readout control part 13. Since the phase difference of phase comparator 14 is greater than a prescribed reference phase difference when input video signal VIP is not of its own, readout control part 13 is controlled with the output of phase comparison part 14 so that a normal readout timing signal will be outputted. When the input video signal is of its own, it is less than the prescribed reference phase difference, so readout control part 13 is so controlled that the output video signal will not lag much. Therefore, the delay of the video signal behind the sound signal can be suppressed as much as possible.
