Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the production cost and to shorten and simplify the production procedure by a method wherein resin injection molding is conducted by jointly using a chopped strand mat and a swirl mat as a glass base material.
CONSTITUTION: In the condition where the dies are open, the molding surface (a) of a male die A is coated with a releasing agent and subjected to gel-coating, and the chopped strand mat 1 is placed along the molding surface. Then the swirl mat 2 is laid on the chopped strand mat 1, and this laying-up operation is repeated as required to obtain the desired thickness. The molding surface (b) of a female die B is coated with the releasing agent, the female die B is mated with the male die A and the dies are clamped. A synthetic resin liquid is poured into the cavity through a pouring hole 3 provided in the female die B, and impregnated in the glass base material consisting of the chopped strand mat 1 and the swirl mat 2. After stopping the pouring of the resin, the resin is hardened and demolded to obtain the product.
