Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled yarn that shows no specified fluctuation in boiling water shrinkage and reduces to a specific value in free-sulfur content, thus showing high resistance to change with the passage of time despite continuous spinning operation for a long period of time.
CONSTITUTION: In one yarn package produced by continuous spinning and finishing, the boiling water shrinkage in the yarn length direction shows no specific tendency, that is, it has no minimum, with extremely low values and the contents of free sulfur is 0.04W0.02wt% based on the yarn and caustic soda or sulfuric acid is less than 0.04wt%. The yarn is produced continuously by coagulating and regenerating a viscose containing less than 0.55wt% of sulfur oxide based on cellulose, stading for a time Ts that satisfies the equation (DM is denier) and washing with water for longer than 0.5Ts. Since free sulfur and sulfuric acid are thoroughly removed during the standing and washing, the resistance is increased to change with time.
