Abstract

PURPOSE: Polyester multifilaments that are mainly made of ethylene terephthalate, have cross sections, which is folded and at least one of which leads to the outside, with a specific cross section modification ratio, an alkali weight reduction ratio and a specific intrinsic viscosity, thus showing good antisnagging properties.
CONSTITUTION: A linear polyester containing more than 85% recurring units of ethylene terephthalate is melt-spun through noncircular spinning nozzles.
