Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower a decomposition temperature of azodicarbonamide, to increase its decomposition rate, to make the pocessing of a thermoplastic resin in its proper melt viscosity, and to obtain a foam having a high foaming ratio and uniform cell structure, by using a basic transition-metal carbonate and azodicarbonamide together in the molding of the resin.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin is blended with 0.1W5.0pts.wt. of azodicarbonamide and 0.1W2.0pts.wt., preferably 0.5W1.0pt.wt. based on 1pt.wt. of azodicarbonamide of a basic transition metal carbonate, e.g., a basic carbonate of Cu, Pb, Ni, Zn, etc. The compound can reduce the decomosition temperature of azodicarbonamide by 10W30°C, and raise its decompostion rate by not less than 20%.
