Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a foam free from the deterioration in physical properties, resulting from the degradation of a premix, by mixing an organic polyisocyanate with a polyol composition containing a phosphorus-containing flame retardant and a tin maleate type catalyst and foaming the resulting mixture.
CONSTITUTION: In a urethane production process comprising mixing an organic polyisocyanate with a polyol composition containing a polyol, a blowing agent, a catalyst and other adjuvants; a polyol composition containing a phosphorus-containing flame retardant and a tin maleate type catalyst is employed as said polyol composition. As the polyol which can be applicable, there can be mentioned a tert. -amino group-containing polyol (A), an oxyalkylated polyhydric alcohol (B), and a combination of (A) and (B), such as a mixture having a weight ratio, (A):(B) of 10:90W70:30. In the production of rigid foams, a polyol having an average OH value of 300W800 and an OH value of below 70 is employed.
