Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the time of attaching wheels by a method in which wheels are concurrently attached to portions to be attached with wheel not coupled through differential gear and also wheels are attached at intervals of time to wheel coupled through differential gear.
CONSTITUTION: When a car body 1 is stopped, position detectors 28 and 31 lift a plate 18, keep the direction of connecting wheel-fitting portions 2 and 5 with two hub holts constant, and detect the position of the hub holts. On the other hand, wheel is supplied to wheel positioners 24 and 27 and fitting hole is directed to specific direction. Under the condition, wheel attachment devices 32 and 33 receive wheels from the wheel positioners 24 and 27, position detectors 28 and 31 and the wheel positioners 24 and 27 go back from the front of the wheel-fitting portions 2 and 5, and the wheel attachment devices 32 and 33 operate according to the signal of detected position to fit the hub bolts into the holes of wheels. Thus, time of fitting wheels can be improved.
