Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase both the stability and the magnetic properties of the magnetic recording medium, by using a binder composition which has a high dispersibility to the metal magnetic substance power with no effect of corrosion.
CONSTITUTION: The copolymer, having the 50:50W99:1 component ratio in terms of mole ratio between the ester and acid components, is composed of acrylate or methacrylate and polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid such as acrylic acid methacrylic acid, crotonic acid, maleic acid, itaconic acid and the like. Then the magnetic coating material, which is composed mainly of the above-mentioned copolymer and the urethane and with the ferromagnetic metal powder dispersed with necessary into the binder component containing the multifunctional isocyanate compound as the hardening agent, is coated on the supporter.
