Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce the sintered body for the wire drawing die with excellent properties by interposing an intermediate layer based on high pressure phase type boron nitride between the hard sintered body and an enclosing support made of cemented carbide enclosing and outer periphery thereof.
CONSTITUTION: On an inner wall surface of the enclosing support 3 made of the cemented carbide obtained by sintering a hard carbide such as WC, MoC, TiC or TaC by using Co as a binding material, powder 2 for the intermediate layer consisting of high pressure phase type boron nitride and carbide, nitride or carbonitride of IVa group element of the Periodic Table such as Ti, Zr or Hf and Va group element such as V, Nb or Ta and containing 0.1% or more of Al or Si is coated. To an inner side of the intermediate layer 2, a diamond powder 1 or a powder 1 forming a hard sintered body containing 20vol% or more of the high pressure phase type boron nitride is arranged as a press-molded body having a die hole 4 formed therein, or in a powdery form; and the whole is sintered by hot pressing to produce the sintered body for the wire drawing die having excellent performance.
