Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent exfoliation of a boundary layer and unify distribution of flow at an inlet of a return vane by providing one or plural intermediate bend stator between both walls of a return bend so that difference in curvature between the interior and exterior walls of a flow passage may be reduced. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate bend stator 14 is provided in a flow passage composed of a return bend interior wall 7 and exterior wall 8 and separates said flow passage in the lateral direction, that is, into an interior flow passage 16 and an exterior flow passage 17. Though the intermediate bend stator 14 to be fitted on the whole periphery is omitted from an illustration, its structure is divided into each half piece. Reduction in difference in curvature between an interior wall 5 and an exterior wall 7 of the flow passage due to the abovementioned formation prevents exfoliation of a boundary layer and unifies distribution of flow at an inlet of a return vane 14 by means of mixture of flows of the interior flow passage 16 and the exterior flow passage 17 after their leaving the intermediate bend stator 14, lessening an incidence loss.
