Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the circuit configuration and to reduce the production cost of a titled device, by connecting a circuit element having a breakover characteristic directly or through resistances to an optical auxiliary thyristor in parallel.
CONSTITUTION: Two sets of main thyristors 1, 2 having reverse polarities to each other and connected in parallel are alternately fired by an optical auxiliary thyristor 3, and a circuit element 8 having a breakover characteristic is connected in parallel to the optical auxiliary thyristor 3 directly or through resistances 4, 7A, 7B, and 9. Then, the breakover characteristic is equivalently given to the thyristor 3, and, at the time of normal operation, a gate electric current is supplied to the main thyristors by means of a light trigger signal through the thyristor 3. In case of an emergency where the forward voltage of the main thyristors exceeds a prescribed value, the gate electric current is supplied to the main thyristors 1, 2 through a breakover diode, and thus, emergency ignition are performed.
