Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a film member having a metallized coating which reflects light attractively, by forming a metallized coating on a film material on the surface of which a resin film having an ultrafine rough surface is formed.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet or film material 1 supplied from a supply drum 2 is introduced into a space between a resin coating roller 4 and a press roller 7, whereby a resin liquid contg. an ultrafine particulate material is deposited on the surface of said sheet or film material. Then the material 1 is dried in a dryer 9 to form a resin film layer 2 having an ultrafine rough surface on the one side of the film 1. Then the film 1 is introduced through the vacuum chambers 11a, 11b of a continuous vacuum metallizer 10 into a vacuum metallizing chamber 12 where a metal such as Au or Ag in a crucible 14 is heated by means of of a heater 13 and evaporated to deposit said metal on the surface of the resin film layer 2, whereby an irregularly reflecting metallized coating layer b having ab ultrafine rough surface corresponding to the rough surface of the resin film is formed. Then the film is wound up through vacuum chambers 11c, 11d around a take-up drum 3.
