Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a surface modifier capable of effectively and simply improving the dispersibility of a powdered material having a hydrophilic surface in an org. medium, by incorporating a specified aluminium chelate.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1W20wt% aluminum chelate of formulaI(wherein A is a group of formula II, III or IV; R1 is H, a 1W6C alkyl; R2 is methyl, phenyl; R3 is R5, R6O, R7NH-; R4, R5, R6, R7 are each a 1W22C alkyl, a 3W22C alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkylaryl; m=0.5W2.5; n=0.3W2.3; m+n=1W2.8) is blended with a filler, etc. to obtain the desired surface modifier. The aluminum chelate of formulaI can be prepared by reacting an aluminum alcoholate with a chelating agent such as a β-ketoester or a β-ketoamide and an acidic phosphate ester.
