PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of writing and reading operation for data by a flag showing an error to a data block having the error during data writing, and then making it ineffective during data reading. CONSTITUTION:A read data signal read by a reading head 4 is passed through a reading circuit 7, and separated into a flag part and a data part by a flag/ data separating circuit 12. This flag part is sent to a control circuit 8, and the data part is stored in a read data storage curcuit 13. At this time, the control circuit 8 uses the flag of a next data block following the data block stored in the storage circuit 13 to judge whether the data block is effective or ineffective, and transfers only effective data blocks to a host device by opening an AND circuit 14 by a control signal (K).
