Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce generation of toxic constituents in exhaust gas, by mixing a part of exhaust gas and blow-by gas, together with air, and then recirculating the mixture into an intake passage while applying the heat of exhaust gas to it.
CONSTITUTION: A device A includes an exhaust gas port 2 communicated with an exhaust gas connecting pipe 14, an air port 1 associated with an air connecting pipe 15, and a blow-by gas port 3 connected to a blow-by gas connecting pipe 19. An exhaust gas enters an exhaust chamber 8, applying heat to a heating element 7. The exhaust gas passing through an exhaust gas regulator valve 4 is mixed with air and blow-by gas by a screw 17. The thus formed mixture is heated by the heating element 7 of a mixing chamber 9, and then is recirculated into an intake manifold 18 through a regulator valve 5 and a check valve 6.
