Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture of a thermoelectric element and to improve the flame resistance and the anti oxidation of the element by removing the electrode pickup part on the surface of the thermoelectric element made of sinterable body and covering it with a glass layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermoelectric element 7 in which P type semiconductor 3A of sintered ion silicide and an N type semiconductor 4A are bonded and integrated wit P-N junction 5 is formed. A glass layer 8 is formed except the electrode pickup part 9 on the surface of the element 7. The layer 8 contains small amount of iron in SiO2, and is formed in the thickness of approx. l,000Angstrom or thicker so as not to be exfoliated.
