PURPOSE:To detect an absolute address of a constant PCM signal at all times, by constituting this device so as to detect a PCM frame synchronizing signal at the time of reproduction, and to read a time code signal which is reproduced and demodulated by a signal related to said signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal of a read and write memory circuit 13 which has absorbed jitter of a running system contained in a demodulated signal is inputted to a PCM frame synchronizing signal detecting circuit 18, and a PCM frame synchronizing signal is detected. A time code generating circuit 20 generates a time code signal by making this synchronizing signal a clock, and this code signal is modulated 21, amplified 22, and is recorded to a magnetic tape 10 through a head Hd3. Subsequently, the time code signal which has been reproduced by the head Hd3 is amplified 23, demodulated 24, and is inputted to a time code detecting circuit 25.
