Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve an antenna with short backfire characteristics easily with a simple construction, by incorporating an impedance matching element, small reflection plate and dielectric constant, and inserting the assembly in an opening of waveguide. CONSTITUTION:A dielectric substance cone frustum 7 is made of a dielectric substance having low dielectric constant and loss, and a small reflection plate 6, irises 5a, 5b are vapor-deposited on a circular plane 8 and rectangular solid. Since the dielectric substance is located at the front part of the opening of waveguide, the size of iris is decided taking into account the effect of impedance. The frustum 7 incorporated with the plate 6 and the irises 5a, 5b and the supporting stand is inserted to the opening 4 and fixed with a dielectric substance screw, allowing to manufacture a number of antennas with arranged short backfire characteristics with matched impedance, simple construction and less number of processes.
