Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI(R1 is phenyl, aralkyl, or alicyclic group; R2 is H, lower alkyl, or aryl; the bond of the part containing the dotted line is single or double; n is 0 or 1; when n is 1, the bond of the part containing the dotted line is single bond).
EXAMPLE: 7-Acetoxy-5H-2,3-dihydro-5-oxo-6-phenylthiazolo[3,2-a]-pyrimidine.
USE: Immunoregulating agent. It has specific immunoregulating activity and low toxicity, and is extremely useful for the remedy of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatic arthritis, nephritis, etc.
PROCESS: The compound of formula III is prepared by acylating the thiazolo[3,2- a]pyrimidine derivative of formula II with an acylating agent (e.g. acetyl chloride) in the presence of a base in a solvent such as DMF.
