Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to perform a reliable detection of a trouble and to prevent a control of an abnormal air-fuel ratio, by a method wherein a trouble in a wiring system is decided corresponding to an output so as to obtain the air-fuel ratio corresponding to an atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:A device consists of the following means and circuits; an O2 sensor activation deciding means which outputs an activation signal at an activating time of the O2 sensor; an air-fuel decision circuit 64 which outputs a binary signal equivalent to a detecting air-fuel ratio that is larger or smaller than a theoretical air- fuel ratio through the comparision of the output of the O2 sensor with a set value; an abnormal decision circuit 75 which outputs an abnormal signal when no binary signal is inverted during a given period of time and during the output of an activation signal; and a means 63 which regulates a fuel amount regulator so as to obtain an air-fuel ratio corresponding to an atmospheric pressure according to the abnormal signal. The device reliably detects troubles in an O2 sensor 9, a carbureter 3, a pulse and a wiring system among said devices.
