Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the change of tension in a tension control system to differentiate the speed signal of a roll for obtaining the inertia compensation signal of a winding device by introducing a delay unit into an inertia compensation circuit for simulating the response characteristic of the control system properly.
CONSTITUTION: A tension control device in an installation where a metallic belt 2 rolled by a rolling mill 1 is wound up by a winder 4 into a coil controls an electric motor 5 via a thyristor control device 6 on the basis of a speed command signal 7a from a signal generating circuit 7. It also controls an electric motor 15 via a thyristor control device 14 on the basis of outputs 11a and 13a of signal generating circuit 11 and 13 and so on. At this stage, a delay unit 16 is provided for inputting the above-said signal 7a and an output signal 6a of the thyristor control device 6. The unit represented by the delay among the difference of response characteristics between these control devices 6 and 14 is simulated, and the signal of an inertia compensation circuit provided with a differentiation circuit 8 and a delay circuit 9 is properly delayed.
