Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an acetylenic ketone whichis a raw material for a heterocyclic compound which is an intermediate for medicines or agricultural chemicals in high yield easily, by reacting an organic halide and CO with a terminal acetylene in the presence of a carbonylating catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: An organic halide expressed by the formula R1X (R1 is organic group; X is halogen), e.g. iodobenzene, and CO are reacted wih a terminal acetylenic compound expressed by the formula HC=(C-R2 (R2 is orgaic group), e.g. acetylene or phenylacetylene, in the presence of a carbonylating catalyst, e.g. palladium black or tricarbonyltriphenylphosphinenickel, to given a acetylenic keton of the formula. Preferably, the reaction is carried out in the presence of a base, and the reaction temperature is 50W200°C. The deisred ketone is obtaned easily without requiring troublesome operation.
