CONSTITUTION:A torsion bar 10 is supported through the medium of a cylindrical body 1 and a cylindrical rotary member 3, and a swing of a small-sized part 10d is fetched through the medium of a twist detecting cylinder 16. This permits setting of an enoughly large thrust direction rigidity which a torque meter requires. Thus, even if a high-viscosity substance is an object to be measured, the easy occurrence of a core swing is prevented, and a relative position between a viscosity detecting terminal 11 and an opposing member (a) is maintained substantially constantly, which results in enabling to remarkably improve a measurement precision and stability.
