Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the light distribution in the tip direction of a bulb by providing a barrier wall between a pair of electrodes encapsulated at the bottom of the bulb while providing a pluraity of discharge regulating boards having the discharge guide section on both faces of the barrier wall. CONSTITUTION:A stem 4 fixed with a pair of electrodes 5 is encapsulated at the bottom 2 of a glass bulb 1 where a phosphor subsistance layer 3 is applied on the inner face, then a barrier wall 8 having the side end 10 contacting with the inner wall face of the bulb 1 and the tip 11 is separated by predetermined distance from the tip 12 of the bulb 1 is provided to partition the electrode 5, then a plurality of discharge regulating boards 13 formed with a discharge guide section 14 is secured to both faces of the barrier wall 8 to form a single base type discharge lamp.
