Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a combustion device by supplying tertiary air forcibly to a reacting surface in the secondary combustion chamber to shorten the length of flame.
CONSTITUTION: A premixture of fuel gas and primary air is sent to a mixture chamber 3 in a burner 2 and injected into a primary combustion chamber 9 through a flame hole surface 5. A secondary air flows into the primary combustion chamber 9, embracing the flame 15 uniformly from both sides of the flame hole surface 5. A tertiary air flows into a tertiary air chamber 16 and is injected through an air jet nozzle 17 toward the flame 15 formed in the secondary combustion chamber 13, and unreacted component reacts with the supplied tertiary air. With sufficient oxidizing agent supplied to the combustion reactor surface, combustion reaction in the secondary combustion chamber 13 progresses rapidly keeping the flame 15 extremely short making it possible to reduce the size of a combustion device.
