A switch receives, for example, a DC voltage of variable magnitude from the output of a logic circuit and can produce at the output terminal of the circuit arrangement described above a specific switching current for driving a so-called 2L circuit, and A threshold switch consists of an arrangement of transistors, diodes, and ohmic resistors that are turned off at a constant lower threshold voltage and turned on at a higher threshold voltage.

If it is necessary to supply the input terminals of the L-circuit, the aforementioned switches or circuit arrangements are included in such monolithic integrated circuits as so-called interface circuits.
