Abstract

PURPOSE:To smooth inserting work by forming a projection to be fitted in a recess at the rear face of braid only on the braid fitting section at the corner of weather strip thereby preventing the inserting end of braid from sliding against the projection. CONSTITUTION:A weather strip 14 is provided with linear sections 14a, 14b and a corner section 14c. Here a projection 15 is provided only on the bottom of a groove 14d made at the corner section 14c. The cross-section of said projection 15 is such that it can be inserted into a recess 5b formed in the rear face of braid 5 while the plan is L-shaped comprised of both inserting sections 15a, 15b to be inserted into said recess 5b which will be inserted to both sides of linear sections 14a, 14b. Consequently when inserting the braid 5 between lips 14e of weather strip 14 along the linear sections 14a, 14b, the inserting end of braid 5 will never slide against the projection 15 to smooth the inserting work.

At this time, a gap is set in advance between the flanges 5a, 5a of the molding 5 and the lips 4e, 4e of the weather strip 4 in consideration of the possibility that dimensional errors may occur during molding. When installing molding 5, the corresponding (-- molding 5
Therefore, as shown in the figure, the protruding strip 4f that fits into the concave portion 5b provided on the back side of the molding 5 is punched, and the protruding strip 4f is inserted into the concave portion 5b. A structure in which the molding 5 is positioned by fitting the molding 5 is sometimes used.

However, in the case of such a structure, the opening edge in the vehicle body is usually curved with a curvature R, etc., and therefore the weather strip 4 attached to the opening edge is also curved with a curvature R etc. Furthermore, since the protruding strip 5b has a similar curved shape, when the molding 5 is inserted from one end side of the weather strip 4 as described above, the insertion end of the molding 5 comes into contact with the protruding strip 5b. However, this has the problem that it causes a large insertion resistance and lowers the working efficiency, so that the working efficiency is extremely poor compared to other weather strips that do not have the protruding strips 5b.

The present invention has been made in order to solve this problem, but only in the molding fitting part located at a part of the corner of the weatherstrip, a convex strip that fits into the groove formed on the back side of the molding is formed. Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a weather strip for an automobile that can improve insertion workability and also performs a sufficient molding positioning function.

At this time, since the straight portions 14a, 141) are not provided with the protrusions 15, the insertion end of the molding 5 does not come into sliding contact with the protrusions 15, and furthermore, there is a gap in consideration of molding errors between the two members. Since it is provided, the insertion work can be carried out smoothly (Fig. 6), and therefore the efficiency of the insertion work can be improved.

Then, with the insertion of molding 5, a part of the corner 14 c
When the corner part 14c is provided with a protrusion 15, the molding 5 fitted on the straight part 14a side is inserted into the insertion part 15a of the protrusion 15, and the straight part 141). The moldings 5 fitted on the sides are respectively fitted into the fittings #15b, and the moldings 5 are positioned at the ends.

Since the protrusions 15 are provided at a portion of each corner, the protrusions 15 provided at the respective corners of the molding 5 will not fit in even at the insertion end.
Therefore, positioning is performed by the protruding strips 15 at both ends, and sufficient positional regulation can be achieved.

As explained above, the present invention provides a weather strip that is interposed between a vehicle body opening and the periphery of a windshield attached to the vehicle body opening, which has a molding fitting part, and has a molding fitting part. In the case where a molding is inserted and fitted into the part,
Since we have provided an automotive weatherstrip in which only the molding fitting portion located at a part of the corner of the weatherstrip is formed with a protrusion that fits into the concave portion formed on the back side of the molding, During the insertion work into the molding fitting part (relying on), the molding insertion end comes into contact with the convex strip that is sometimes provided on the molding fitting part as in the past, and due to the friction resistance = insertion resistance. The insertion work can be carried out smoothly without being blocked, and the work efficiency can therefore be improved.Furthermore, after the insertion work is completed, moldings are installed at some of the corners of the weather strip at both ends. Since positioning is done by inserting the concave part into the convex strip, even if a gap is provided between the molding fitting part of the weatherstrip and the molding to account for errors during molding, It is possible to reliably regulate the position without shifting the position within the gap,
