Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は汎用グリース組成物に関し、詳しくは巾広い温
度範囲において安定性のすぐれた汎用グリース組成物に
関する。
グリースは冷凍機、車両０回転軸受、ポンプなど様々の
機器に潤滑用、サビ止め用等に用いられている。使用さ
れる機器により、使用温度範囲は著しく異なるものとな
る。例えば冷凍機に用いた場合、冷媒により−４０〜−
５０°Ｃ程度の低温に冷却され、また車両の軸受に用い
た場合、ブレーキの作動などにより１８０〜２００°Ｃ
の高温にさらされる。従来、憫滑基油の特性上、高温お
よび低温におけるＪＩＳ規格、例えばＪＩＳ　Ｋ　２２
２０　転がり軸受用グリースト３独の高温における蒸発
量と極低温におけるトルクを同時に満たすグリース組成
物を製造することはできなかった。そのため、使用機器
、目的により異なるグリースを使用しなければならず、
また広い温度範囲における使用に問題があった。
そこで、本発明者らは高温から低温までの広い範囲にわ
たって使用可能なグリースを開発すべく研究した結果、
特定の潤滑油基油に金属セッケンを配合してなるグリー
ス組成物が上記目的を満たすことを見い出し、本発明を
完成した。
すなわち、本発明は流動点が一３５℃以下である深冷脱
ロウ基油な主成分とする潤滑油基油に増稠剤を配合して
なる汎用グリース組成物である。
本発明において潤滑油基油としては、流動点が＝３５°
Ｃ以下である深冷脱ロウ基油な主成分とするものを使用
する。ここで深冷脱ロウ基油は通常ナフテン系炭化水素
およびパラフィン系炭化水素の合計量が９５重量％以上
であり、ヨウ素価が７以下、イオウ分１０　ｐｐｍ以下
、窒素分５　ｐｐｍ以下。
流動点−３５°Ｃ以下、動粘度が４０℃で５　ｃｓｔ以
上５００　ｑｓｔ以下のものである。この深冷脱ロウ基
油は中間基原油からの潤滑油留分な水素化処理。
減圧蒸留、脱ロウ等の操作を行なうことによって製造す
ることができる。
潤滑油基油として上記深冷脱ロウ基油のほかに合成油な
どを配合したものを用いることができる。
合成油としてはポリオレフィン、ポリグリコールエステ
ル、ポリオールエステル、リン酸エステル。
シリコーンオイル、アルキルジフェニル、二塩基酸エス
テルなどがある。これらの中では二塩基酸エステルが好
適ぞあり、具体的にはジオクチルセバケート、ジオクチ
ルアゼレート、ジオクチルアジペートなどが挙げられる
。また、ナフテン系のマシン油なども配合することがで
きる。
潤滑油基油中、主成分の深冷脱ロウ基油の含量は１０重
量％以上、好ましくは４０重量％以上が適当である。
次に、増稠剤とは稠度な向上させる役割を果すものであ
り、主に金属セッケンが用いられる。金属セッケンは通
常グリースの製造に用いられるものであればよく、具体
的には脂肪酸、樹脂酸、ナンテン酸などとリチウム、ナ
トリウム、カルシウム、アルミニウム、バリウム、鉛な
どの金属との塩が挙げられる。例えば、ステアリン酸リ
チウム。
１２−ヒドロキシステアリン酸リチウム、酢酸カルシウ
ム、ステアリン酸カルシウム、バルミチン酸カルシウム
、オレイン酸カルシウム、これらの混合物およびコンプ
レックスセッケンなどがあげられる。その他尿素系、ベ
ントン系、シリコーン系などの増稠剤も単独で、あるい
は金属セッケンと組合せて使用することができる。
本発明の汎用グリース組成物における潤滑油基油および
金属セッケンの配合量は一義的に決定されないが、通常
は潤滑油基油１ｏｏｘ量部に対して金属セッケン３〜３
０重量部、好ましくは５〜１５重量部である。
本発明の汎用グリース組成物は原則的に上記潤滑油基油
および金属セッケンよりなるが、必要に応じて酸化防止
剤、金属不活性化剤、防錆剤、極圧剤、固体間滑剤など
を配合することができる。
ここで酸化防止剤としては２，６−ジタージャリーフチ
ルパラメチルフェノール（ＤＢＰＣ）　、　フｘニルー
α−ナフチルアミンなどを誉げることかでき、金属不活
性化剤としてはベンゾトリアゾール、防錆剤としてはバ
リウムスルフォネート、ンルビクンモノオレート、極圧
剤としては硫化油脂、ジチオリン酸鉛、固体潤滑剤とし
てはグラファイト。
二硫化モリブデンなどを挙げることができる。
本発明の汎用グリース組成物は様々の方法により製造す
ることができる。例えば１２−ヒドロキシステアリン酸
リチウムグリースの場合は潤滑油基油の使用量の２０〜
３０Ｍ量％に金属セッケンを加える。この場合、金属セ
ッケンとしては、金属セッケンを直接加えても良いが、
通常は脂肪酸。
樹脂酸等あるいはその誘導体に金属化合物を加えてケン
化して作られる。その後、１８０〜２１０℃、好ましく
は１９０〜２００°Ｃの温度で昇温して脱水し金属セッ
ケンを溶解せしめる。さらに、徐々に１８０〜１７０℃
の温度まで冷却する。次いで、残りの潤滑油基油を加え
て急冷する。添加剤等を添加する場合は、グリース組成
物の温度を１００℃以下にして加えると良い。次いで、
ミリング、脱泡処理等を行ない本発明の汎用グリース組
成物を得る。
本発明の汎用グリース組成物は高温および低温の双方の
温度領域におけるＪＩＳ規格を同時に満たすものである
。すなわち、高温における蒸発量が少なく、また低温に
おけるトルクも小さく、蒸発損失の少ない汎用グリース
組成物である。したがって、種々の機器、用途に広く用
いることができ、また広い温度範囲での使用に好適であ
る。さらに、きめ細いバター状であり外観も良好である
。
次に、本発明を実施例により説明する。
実施例１，２．４および比較例１，２．４第１表に示す
潤滑油基油の３０ｆｉ量％に第１表に示す配合量となる
ように１２−ヒドロキシステアリンｍと水酸化リチウム
を加え、攪拌した。その後、１９４°Ｃまで加熱し、得
られたグリースを徐々に冷却し、１７０℃になったとき
残りの潤滑油基油を添加して急速に１００’Ｃ以下に冷
却した。
さらに、第１表に示す添加剤を加え、均一に混合した後
、ミリング、脱泡を行なって汎用グリース組成物を得た
。このグリース組成物についての試験結果を第１表に示
した。
なお、憫滑油基油の性状につき第２表に示す。
実力丁１例３および比較例３ 実施例１，２．４および比較例１．２．４において、金
属セッケンの成分として水酸化カルシウム、ステアリン
酸、酢酸および水添パーム油を第１表に示す配合分用い
たこと以外は、同様に行ない汎用グリース組成物を得た
。このグリース組成物についての試験結果を第１表に示
す。
