Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は、金属蓋付きプラスチック容器の製造法に関
する。
アルミニウム缶は、気密性、缶強度等の優れた性能を有
しているため、各種飲料容器として広く使用されている
が、原材料が高価であり、容器が不透明で内容物が外か
ら見えない等の不具合がある。この不具合を解消するた
めに、筒状のプラスチック容器の開口部に、フルミニラ
ムiどの延展性の金属蓋を装着したものが提案されてい
る。プラスチック容器開口部に金属蓋を装着するには、
アルミニウム缶、ヌチール缶などで従来性なわれている
二重巻締め法が適[屈できるが、プラスチック材料は金
属材料に比べて弾性率か小さく、炭酸飲料ヲ充填したと
きのように内圧が常時かかるものでは、内圧の応力によ
って巻締め部の容器本体の厚み方向の歪は、金属缶体の
厚み方向の歪より太きい。そのため従来の二重巻締め法
では、巻締め部から缶体がすり抜けて金属蓋が外れる事
故が多発する。
これらの問題を解決するために、巻締め部に接着剤全使
用することが提案されているが、従来提案の方法では二
重巻締め装置が利用しに〈〈、捷だ十分な接着速度が得
られず実用的でない。
本発明者らは上記の問題を解決すべく鋭意研究した結果
、缶体のすり抜けがなくな一す、かつシール性の低下の
ない金属蓋付きプラスチック容器の迅速な製造法を発H
月したのである。
す々わちこの発明は、プラスチック缶体の開口部に延展
性金属蓋全巻締めするに際し1巻締め部にホットメルト
接着剤ケ介在させて巻締めしたのち、この巻締め部を高
周波誘導加熱してプラスチック缶体と金属蓋ケ接着Tる
ことを特徴とする金属蓋付きプラスチック容器の製造法
である。
この発明孕図面によって説明すると、第1図は従来の方
法による二重巻締めの一部断面図を示し、1は金属蓋−
2はプラスチック缶体にして、金属蓋1の外周縁部のカ
バーフック部1aと缶体2の上縁部のボディフック部2
aとが二重巻締めされ。
カバーフック部1aの上方にアッパークリアランヌ3が
、またボディフック部2aの下方にロワークリアランス
4がそれぞれ形成されている。
第2図はこの発明の巻締め法を説明する一部断面ケ示し
1巻締め前の金属蓋1の周縁のカバーフック部1a内面
にホットメルト接着剤層5會設ける。2bは缶体2の上
縁部を外側に折曲げて形成された巻締め前の状態のフラ
ンジである。
第3図は第2図の金属蓋]のカバーフック部]aと缶体
2のフランジ2bと全二重巻締めした断面図であり、二
重巻締め後、外刃に近接して設けた高周波誘導加熱装置
6で巻締め部のみが、ホットメルト接着剤が軟化される
温度にまで急速に加熱される。
ホットメルト接着剤は、金属蓋のカバーフック部または
缶体のフランジのいずれに塗布してもよく、1だホット
メルト接着剤をあらかじめフィルム状としてこのフィル
ムを巻締め時に挾み込むことも可能である。ホットメル
ト接着剤としては。
缶体會構成するプラスチックの融点より低い温度で軟化
するものであれば、エチレン・酢酸ビニル共重合体系、
ポリエステル系、ポリアミド糸のいずれもが使用できる
。特に好ましいのは1缶体孕構成するプラスチックの構
成単位?主体とした共重合体であり、また少量のイオン
性基を含有する成分を共重合したものでもよい。巻締め
後に高周波誘導加熱することにより、接着剤は短時間で
軟化され、この加熱によって缶体は損傷會受けな込。
高周波誘導加熱装置は、100kHz以上の高周波発生
のものであり、高周波誘導コイルはリング状のものが好
適であるが、その細長円リング状、矩形状、板状のもの
でもよい。
この発1t/fに使用されるプラスチック材料は、ポリ
エチレン、ポリプロピレン、耐衝撃性ポリスチレン、ポ
リカーボネートーポリエステルなどの熱可塑性樹脂であ
るが、特に好ましいのは、エチレンテレフタレート?主
成分とするポリエチレンテレツクレートであり、テレフ
タル酸又はそのエステル形成誘導体とエチレングリコー
ルとから得られる熱可塑性ポリエステルである。
プラスチック缶体會製造するには、原料の熱可W性樹脂
全押出成形機の所定形状のダイ7より溶融押出して成形
する。容器本体ζこ透明性全特にもたせようとする場合
は、溶融押出したパイプ會。
常温以下に冷却させてパイプ形状?規制するためのサイ
プで急冷して非晶質パイプとして成形する。
また容器本体の機械的強度全増大しようとする場合には
、押出し成形したパイプ會ガラス転移点以上、150°
C以下の延伸適温に加熱して一軸または二軸延伸する。
さらに容器本体が高温液体充填や高温殺菌などの高温に
耐えるように下る場合は。
上記延伸したパイプ?緊張下で熱固定操作を加える。
上記のようにこの発明における容器本体は一溶融押出し
後の加工条件を変更することによって、任意の性能が得
られる。また、未延伸もしくは低延伸のシート?真空成
形、圧空成形などによって深絞りして得られる有底容器
の巻締めに適用することもできる。
金属蓋の材料は、延展性ケ有するもので、アルミニウム
のほかに−プリキープラヌチックケ積層又は塗布した金
属などである。
以下にこの発明の詳細な説明する。
実施例 固有粘度0.75 (フェノール/テトラクロロエタン
−6/4重量比混合溶媒を用いて30°Cにて測定)の
ポリエチレンテレフタレートヲ275°Cに溶融L−パ
イプダイから押出して内径15.8ffff、外径17
.7 mmの管状に押出し、93°C+ 2 kt)1
0!の加圧空気でブロー延伸して周方向に3倍延伸して
内径52.4ff7ff、外径53闘の延伸管ケ成形し
た。この延伸管全長さ1 /I Omrnに切断し、次
いで両端開口部にハンドプレヌ機ケ用いて】00°Cで
フランジ?熱成形した。
あらかじめ−金属蓋のカバーフック部lこ、ポリエヌテ
ル共重合ホットメルト接着剤(商品名GM−400、東
洋紡結社製)全塗布した厚み025πmのアルミニウム
Mk缶体の両端開口部のフランジに載せ、セミトロシー
マ−(半田王様社製)を用いて順次巻締めした。続いて
巻締め部上端からコイル下端寸での距離20門に配置し
た高周波誘導コイtvlC−250’kHz−2,5K
WO高周波電流’(11−1,5秒通?1イし−プラス
チック缶体ケ溶融変形させることなく、ホットメルト接
着剤全軟化させたのち冷却した。
なお比較例として、上記実施例において、アルミニウム
蓋のカバーフック部にホットメルト接着剤葡塗布しない
ものを作成した。
上記実施例および比較例のポリエステル容器のそれぞれ
10個に5.0にり/C14の内圧全かけ−70”C雰
囲気中に放置したところ一実施例では24時間経過して
も金属蓋の外れたものは見られなかったが、比較例では
10個のうち3個の金属蓋か外れた。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 〔〕〕プラヌチツク缶体の開口部に延展性金属蓋ケ巻締
    めするに際し、巻締め部にホットメルト接着剤?介在さ
    せて巻締めしたのち、この巻締め部に高周波誘導加熱し
    てプラスチック缶体と金属蓋ヶ接着することを特徴とす
    る金属蓋付きプラスチック容器の製造法。
