Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は全停がフッ素樹脂から形成されているフィルタ
ーエレメントおよびその製法に関する。
近年、膜分離技術をベーヌとした窒気、ガス、水、薬品
等の超清浄化技術が著るしぐ進展し、食品分野、半導体
分野等の各分野でraJ広く利用されている。特に半導
体集積回路製造グロセヌにおける徽M加工技術分野で必
要とされる薬剤の清浄化技術については、空気、ガス、
水等の清浄化技術に比較して技術的対応が遅れてν)、
最近特に注目されている。製品の歩留夕向上、萬品質化
金はかる上で、薬剤の毘#1度化がめられているにもか
かわらず、半導体集積回路表意メーカーおよび薬剤供給
メーカー共にその対応が遅れているのは、金属溶出の少
ない、耐薬品性の良いフィルター製品の開発が遅れてい
ることが主要因の一つとしてめげられている。現在、上
記要求を満たすものとして、全フッ素樹脂製のフィルタ
ーがめられて寂フ、平膜の多段方式2よびチューブラ一
方式の膜フィルターが開発されているが、有効濾過面積
が少なく、濾過流量が少ないため、高粘度薬剤の濾過お
よび大量処理に問題がめ夛、市場の要求を満たすに至っ
ていない。
−4、フッ素樹脂の膜を用いたプリーツ状フィルターエ
レメントが開発されている。こiNは有効濾過面積が大
きく、耐薬品性にもがなり優れているが、フッ素樹脂の
接着が本米価めて困難でるることから、フィルター膜以
外は7ツ累以外の材料が使用されて2シ、これが耐薬品
性や金属溶出等のネックとなり、膚足すべ@製品は得ら
れていない。
さらに上記半導体集積回路製造グロセヌ[をいて採用さ
れるフィルターは0.1〜10μと云った非常に餓小な
孔を必要とし、フィルター膜自体は極めて強度が弱く、
フィルター製造時に苛酷な条件を採用することはできず
、かつlたフィルターx L/ メン) 4!rHB 
uの接着は、単に接着して因るのみでは不可でめル、完
全なシール状態で密着している必要かめる。
本発明はこの様な要請を満足するフィルターエレメント
訃よびその製造法t−提供する。
即ち・本発明はN1図およびN2図に示すととく四フッ
化エチレイ樹脂(以下P T F Eと云う)のフィル
ター5(1)の両面に熱可塑性フッ素樹脂製ネット状支
持体(2)’に慮ねたサンドイッチ状シートをブリーツ
状に折り曲げて、その両1I4IR部を液密にFMi庸
して円筒状にした濾過+7(3)、該濾過材の両端部(
4の中央間n部(5〕を歿して熱可塑性フッ素樹脂中に
埋入一体化してプリーツ端部襞間に樹脂を浸入させて密
#融着した端部シール部(6)および該端部シール部と
液密に融着されている所定の形状を有するフッ素樹脂脚
キャップ(8)(亀1図では理解金谷易にするため別々
に示している)を必須要素として備えた全フッ素樹脂製
フィルターエレメントおよびそのjili法を提供する
本発明のフィルターエレメントは素材が全てフッ素樹脂
で薄酸されてpム請薬品性、金属溶出等のr#!j題が
ない上、従来−着が困難とされていたフッ素樹脂を特殊
な構成によって取寄に融着した点に特徴があり、この様
な全7ツ木樹脂表フィルターエレメントは全く新規であ
る。
本発明にJ@騒るフィルターIIII(1)はP T 
F E製でる夕、これは多孔性フッ素樹脂製補強材でラ
ミネートされたものでるってよく、この膜自体は濾過膜
として公知のものでるる。膜厚、孔径は処理取の種類、
p過日的によって任意に選定すればよいが通常、膜厚6
0〜100μ、孔径0.1〜10ttのものを使用する
。この膜は機械的強度が弱く、筐た濾過圧によって容易
に変形するため、ブリーツ状を保持するため、両1ll
11面にフッ素樹脂製ネット状支持体を崖ねてはさみサ
ンドイッチ状にして使用する。このフィルター膜として
、例えば特開昭58−14919号公報に記載されてい
るごとキ、カラス繊維表面にフルオロエチレンポリマー
を融着させたものは、強度的には向上するが鑞小孔径の
ものが得られず、耐薬品性、浴出金属等の点で十分でな
く、本発明の目的にそぐわないため使用で@ない。
P TF E製フィルター膜は熱可M性7ツ索樹脂製ネ
ット支持体(2)でサンドイッチ状にはさむ。これは、
フィルター膜が全面積にわたって濾過に有効に働くため
のスペーサーであると同時に沖過圧による膜の変形を防
ぐ他、膜側縁部の融Mを完全にするために重要な役割を
有する。フィルター膜の素材であるP T F Eは熱
融着が非常に困難でめり、膜の強度も極めて弱いために
その両端部(4)を液密に融着することは困難でめり、
それが全フッ素樹脂製日間状フィルターエレメントが従
来提供されていなかった原因の一つと考えられる。
ネット支持体(2)の素材は四フッ化エチレンーパーフ
ルオルアルキルビニルエーテル共重合all 脂(PF
A)、四フッ化エチレンー六フッ化プロピレン共tl[
(F E P )、エチレン−四フッ化エチレン共重合
樹脂(ETFE)、三フッ化塩化工fvン樹脂(PCT
FE )、エチレン−三フッ化塩化エチレン共重合樹脂
(EC”I”FE)、フッ化ビニリデン樹脂(PVdF
 )、フッ化ビニル樹脂(PVF)、四フッ化エチレン
ー六フッ化グロピレンーパーフルオルアルキルビニルエ
ーテル共重合樹脂(EPE)等の熱可塑性フッ素樹脂等
が使用される。特に好葦しくに耐薬品性、 の点でPFA、FEP、EPE−1(iる。
ネット支持体はフッ素樹脂繊維の平m伯、融盾不緘布、
成形ネット、編物、パンチングシート等多孔性の素材で
あって、ブリーツ状に折9Mげることのできる程シの可
撓性と濾過圧によって容易に形層れしない程度の剛性を
有するものが望ましく、そのため、通常厚さ0.1〜1
.0■、孔面積O41〜5■2程度のものを用いる。
フィルター膜はネット支持体でサンドインチ状にはさみ
、これをブリーツ状に折り曲げて両側縁部を液密に融着
しプリーツ状円筒にする。フィルター膜とネット支持体
は多層構造をとってもよい(例えば支持体−膜一支持体
一膜一支持停)。
両側縁部(9〕の融着は第2図に示すごとくネット支持
体の一側縁部を長くし、これを他の9RJM部の外側に
かぶせて一体に/M着してもよく、N3図に示すごとく
、両Im蝋部間に熱可塑性フッ素樹脂シールテープaO
をはさんで融着してもよい。lた第4図に示すごとく熱
可塑性フッ素樹脂鵬シールカバーQυをかぶせて融着し
てもよい。この様なシールチーブやシールカバーとして
は1#楽品性と#!1着性に優れたPFA、FEP、E
PE等が好ましい。
M3図pよび第4図に示すM様セはシールの耐圧性が向
上する。
以上のごとくして得られた一過材はその両端部(滲をネ
ット支持体の樹脂の融点以上に十分加熱して7”U−ツ
の各襞間を予備融着させる。この工程は後にプリーツ状
フィルターの両端部の襞間にフッ素樹脂を浸入させて密
封融着し端部シール部全形成させる前工程として重要で
ある。即ち、後述するごとくプリーツ状フィルターの両
端部は溶融フッ素樹脂の入った金型中に押込み融着させ
るが、その際、前記襞間の予WJ融盾を怠ると溶融フッ
素樹脂の粘度が高いため、プリーツが座屈しブリーツ襞
間に樹脂が浸入しない。即ちフィルター膜がフッ素樹脂
中に埋入した状態にならない。従って不完全なシールし
か得られず耐圧層も不十分となる。
上記襞間の予備の融着は完全な全面密着の必要はなく、
端部シール部形成時に生ずる上述の問題が避けられる程
度に行なえばよい。
以上のごとくして得られた一過材はその両端部(りを、
液通過用開口部(5)を残して烈可ffi注7ツ索入し
得るドーナツ形金型に、シール用熱可塑性フッ素樹脂全
充填し、これ全加熱溶融した中にp過材端部全押込み、
プリーツの間にシール用フッ素樹脂が浸入し、濾過材端
部のフッ素樹脂の少なくともその表面が溶融し浸入した
樹脂を融着一体化するまで加熱を続けることにより行な
う。シール用熱可塑性フッ素樹脂はPTFE以外のPF
A、FEP+ETFE+PCTFE、ECTFE%PV
dF、PVF、EPE等いずれも使用できるが、耐薬品
性の点でPFA、FEP、EPEが野芝しい。PTFE
は、M層性に劣フ、かつ溶融時の粘度が誘いため、濾過
材端部を挿入し難くまたブリーツ間に気泡が残りリーク
原因となるため野芝しくない。
端部シール部(6)には更に所定形状を有するキャップ
(8)および所望によl’過材両端部の中央開口部(ω
Ic嵌入する多孔性中空円筒状コア材(P液の取出流路
)全融着する。
融着方法には加熱融着、回転溶接、インサートインジェ
クション、シリンダー注入法等種々の方法を採用し得る
。加熱融着の場合は所定の形状に予め成形したフッ素樹
脂製キャップおよびコア材と端部シール部を嵌合し、金
型中に挿入して端部シール部のフッ素樹脂の融点以上に
加熱し、キャップ側面全部2よび/または底部全面を液
密に完全融着させる。両端部に融着させるキャップは両
者共、中央開口部(7)ヲ有するドーナツ状の形状を有
していてもよく、一方がドーナツ状で他方が中央開口部
を有さないキャップであってもよい。
端部シール部を予め形成させておかない場合、キャップ
と濾過材の融着は不完全となり、完全にシールサレタフ
ィルターエレメントヲ得ることはできない。
キャップに使用するフッ素樹脂はmJ述のフッ素樹脂の
いずれも使用し得るが、耐薬品性の点で、PTFE−F
EP−P FA+EPE7:rX望−11Lい。
よシ好丘しくは密着性の点で端部シールに使用したのと
同じ樹脂を用いる。
コア材も前述の7ツ索樹脂のいずれも使用し得るが、1
耐薬品性と接着性の点でPTFE、FEP、PFA、E
PEが好ましぐ、特に端部シールに使用した樹脂と同じ
ものが野芝しい。
本発明フィルターエレメントは所望ならばフッ素樹脂製
シリンダー状保護外筒を濾過材の周囲にかぶせてもよい
。この保護外筒は処理液が通過するよ5多数の孔を有す
るパネルから作ったものでよく、必らずしもフィルター
エレメントと一体に融着される必要はない。キャップの
内側にはめ込んでもよく、外側にノψ入してもよめ。
本発明フィルターニレメン1−ff全体が7ツ累樹脂製
であり、耐薬品性に優れ、金属溶出等の問題がない上、
0.1μ〜10μと云ったlF、常に小さい粒子を含む
処理液の濾過が可能でめり、従って半導体集積回路製造
工程等で使用される薬剤等の精製K特に有用でるる。
以下、実施例を必げて本発明を説明する。
実施例 1) ’r F Eフィルター膜(厚さ60μ、平均孔
径0.22μ、面積260×2200IIrm2)の上
下にEPEネット支持体(平均厚さ0.3 am、孔面
積率50%、面積260 X220’0rra2)k重
ねサンドインチ伏にして襞数78のプリーツを成形する
プリーツの両側球部ft重ねEPEフィルム(巾5履、
長さ260馴、厚さ50μ〕全、その間にはさみ(第3
図〕、これを市販のインパルスシーラーでS融着し、円
筒形プリーツ状濾過材(内径36m、最外径6’ 5 
m、長さ260m)k得た。
この熱融着部は完全に液密にシールされている。
次に、この円筒形グリ〜ツ状濾過材の両端部(それぞれ
15aa)を加熱炉に差込み、350℃で30分熱処理
し、次いで取出して冷却する。
別に上記熱処理端部に嵌合する金型(ドーナツ状)内に
、その底部と同じ形状のHPE15Jシート(厚さ5 
rrm )を挿入し、金型f!:320℃に加熱して、
内部のEPEシートを溶融させる。これに前記ブリーツ
状沖過材の熱処理端部を挿入し15分間320℃に保持
した後、金型を冷却して抜きとる。得らi′L′fc端
部シール端部シール部過材) TF I’。
膜がEPE樹脂中に完全に埋入した状態で高圧にも耐え
得る。
上記端部シールp過材の内孔にEPE製多孔性中空円筒
状コア材(外径35IlllI+、内径30調、長さ2
53馴、孔数36馴2X176)を端部から端部まで挿
入し、これらとセットになったEPE表端部キャッグを
嵌め込み、これらを金型に入れて320℃で40分加熱
した後冷却して取り出力他端も同じ操作を繰返す。
得られたフィルターエレメントはプリーツ側縁部、端部
2よびキャップ部とも、液密に強固に密着して2)、リ
ークは全くなく、しかも高圧に耐え得るものでめった。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、 四フッ化エチレン樹脂のフィルター膜の両面に熱
    可塑性フッ素樹脂製ネット支持体を重ねたサンドイッチ
    状シートをプリーツ状に折り曲げて、その両側縁部を液
    密に融着したp過材、該p過材の両端部の中央開口部を
    残して熱可酢性フッ素樹脂中に埋入一体化してプリーツ
    端部襞間に樹脂を浸入させて密封融着した端部シール部
    および該端部シール部と液密に融着されているフッ素樹
    脂製キャップを必須要素として備えた全フッ素樹脂製フ
    ィルターエレメント。 2、 フィルター膜の鑞和孔の径が0.1〜10μであ

    樹脂を融着一体化し、得られた濾過材端部を所定の形状
    を有するフッ素樹脂製キャップ2よび所望によりフッ素
    樹脂製濾過付支持用コア材と嵌合し、その王者または王
    者を一体に融着させること全特徴とする全7ツ累樹脂製
    フイルターエレメントの製法。 9、 ブリーツ状フィルター側砿部の融着に際し、側縁
    部間に熱可塑性フッ素樹脂製融着用テ・−グを挿入して
