Abstract

PURPOSE:To aim prevention of stress and boring feeling, growth promotion, and improvement in raising demand ratio, by feeding animals with saccharide blocks consisting essentially of lactose, sucrose, or dextrin, not drinkable easily, and having shape and hardness not disintegrable easily. CONSTITUTION:Animals, especially in growing period, weaning period, and high- density raising are fed with saccharide block (preferably >=500g weight, >=2cm length in one direction, 50-150kg/cm<2> compression strength, and 0.2-7wt% water content) consisting essentially of one or more of lactose, sucrose, and dextrin, not drainkable easily, having shape and hardness not disintegrable easily.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] Field of Industrial Application) The present invention is used to prevent stress and boredom in animals during the fattening period, weaning period, etc., and in particular to prevent pigs from biting their tails and ears due to stress in high-density rearing. This invention relates to a feed sugar block suitable for preventing bites and a breeding method using the same.

Conventional technology) In general, vitamins, minerals, fats and oils, dense grains, etc. are mixed into feed raw materials such as corn flour and made into powder, granules, or pellets to promote the growth of animals. No. 56-144059 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 58-47442 are known.

In addition, for the purpose of adjusting the sodium content of herbivorous livestock that eats potassium-rich grasses, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-26814 is known as a method of forcibly pressurizing salt to feed livestock.

On the other hand, stress in animals is caused by three factors: nutritional, environmental, and psychological.
Causes include lack of feeders and waterers, sudden fluctuations in noise and temperature inside the barn, poor ventilation and damp flooring of the barn, close housing in a barn of a certain size, lack of exercise, etc. It is said that

For example, in the case of pigs kept in close quarters, due to stress, the number of characters may be increased (Modern Publishing, 198 Kui, page 745). To prevent pigs from feeling bored, there are methods to prevent pigs from feeling bored, such as hanging iron chains or old tires inside the pig stall and letting the pigs bite freely, or placing straw in the pig stall every day. The common practice was to use a passive method in which chewing was expected to alleviate feelings of boredom and prevent stress. Incidentally, the occurrence of pig stress coincided with the introduction of new pig breeding management methods. The breeding methods seem to have an effect on the pig's temperament and development, which is thought to be the cause of many of the negative outcomes.

C) Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The invention was completed through research and development in order to solve the various drawbacks mentioned above. In other words, instead of using the passive method of easing boredom as in the past, we are using a -3-sugar that is palatable to animals and has a size and hardness that makes it difficult for animals to swallow it. It has been found that by chewing or chewing blocks, stress can be effectively prevented and a large amount of saliva produced, stimulating the feeding center and improving feed conversion. In addition, various ingredients necessary for animals such as vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, etc. can be mixed into the sugar block, and in the case of piglets, iron, which is physiologically insufficient, and drugs to prevent diarrhea, etc. can be mixed in. There are also benefits.

The growth of piglets depends on the genetic predisposition of the piglet, birth weight,
It depends on the pig's lactation ability and breeding environment. Piglets with poor growth do not grow well even at a later date, which is a problem in breeding management, and the worse the breeding environment, the more stress will occur, which will affect growth. Growth is promoted by alleviating this stress with a sugar block.

The reason why one or more types of sugars selected from the group consisting of lactose, sucrose, and dextrin are used as the main ingredient is because it is economically inexpensive, and the general preference of livestock is that it has a certain degree of sweetness. (2) The unidirectional width (width) of the shape may be at least 2α or more, such as a spherical shape, a cylindrical shape, an [angle], a rod shape, a semiconical shape, a semicircular shape, or a donut shape thereof. Examples include hollow shapes such as , and other bowl shapes. In particular, a hanging type is preferable from a sanitary point of view to prevent contact with the ground.1. Therefore, it is important to make the sugar block into a doughnut-like hollow shape or a rod shape. In particular, in the case of a donut shape, the inner diameter may be made large enough to fit the pig's nose, for example, a small diameter for a piglet, and a large diameter for an adult pig. Further, if the purpose is to make the sugar block edible, it may be made into a columnar shape, a rectangular parallelepiped shape, or any other appropriate shape. Furthermore, in order to control the disintegration and staining of the sugar block, a protector made of plastic or the like may be attached to the sugar block.

(Effects of the invention) 1. Effect of improving body weight gain and feed efficiency 20 lactating piglets with an average weight of approximately 6 kg (40 pigs in total)
Test] Two groups were set up as 7.1 IO animals, a sugar block production example 2 feeding group and a sugar block non-feeding control group, and reared for 4 weeks to conduct a comparative test on body weight gain and feed efficiency. The test area settings and inspection items are as shown in Table 2. The test was repeated twice [-. During the test period, commercially available feed was used, and water was available for free drinking.
Otherwise, the practices of the pig farm where the test was conducted were followed.

The test results are shown in Table 3. In terms of weight gain, both times from 0 to 4 weeks (total period) were compared with each control group [a significant difference was observed at a risk rate of 7.5%. Also, an improvement was seen in feed efficiency compared to the control group. Furthermore, in the control area, there was a lot of fighting between individuals in both of the two repeated tests, and several pigs were seen.

各個体ともに安定した成長が認められた。
On the other hand, sugar block salary districts had fewer struggles compared to target districts.
Stable growth was observed for each individual.

Table 2 Setting of test plots and inspection items 2. Stress prevention effect test 45 piglets weighing around 30 kg were tested, sugar block production example 1 fed group, sugar block production example 3 fed group, and sugar block non-fed control. All three wards were set up, with 15 pigs in each ward, and each pig was housed in a 5 m2 pig pen so that they were kept in close quarters, and the membrane condition was observed for two weeks. As a result, on the seventh day after the start of the test, some animals were found to be bleeding from the ears in the control group, and the number of animals bleeding from the ears and tails increased thereafter.

On the other hand, in the sugar block feeding group, one individual with slight bleeding from the ears due to a small-scale fight was observed on the 122nd day after the start of the test in the Production Example 1 feeding group, and on the 144th day in the Production Example 3 feeding group. However, it did not spread to other individuals. (See Table 4).

以上の結果から、糖ブロックの給与は豚のストレスを緩

From the above results, it was confirmed that feeding sugar blocks alleviates the stress of pigs and forms a stable pig herd.
