Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は光ディスクに関する。更に詳しくは、超音波溶
着により貼り合わされた、エアーサンドイッチ構造の光
ディスクに関する。
〔従来の技術及び問題点〕
従来、光ディスクとしては、例えば、第3図に示すよう
な、2枚のポリカーボネート製のディスク基板1を記録
膜層2を内側にして、中間にポリカーボネートからなる
スペーサー3を挟んで、接着剤4によって貼り合わせた
、エアーサンドイッチ構造の光ディスク、第4図に示す
ような、2枚のポリカーボネート製のディスク基板1を
記録膜層2を内側にして、中間にポリカーボネートから
なる外周用突起付きスペーサー6及びポリカーボネート
からなる内周用突起付きスペーサー7を挟んで、超音波
溶着によって貼り合わされるエアーサンドイッチ構造の
光ディスク等が知られている。尚、第3図及び第4図に
おいて、5はエアー空間である。
第3図の如く接着剤によって貼り合わせる場合、ホント
メルトタイプあるいは紫外線硬化タイプの接着剤を用い
ても、第4図に示す超音波溶着によって貼り合わせる場
合に比べて生産コストが高くなる。
しかしながら、一般に超音波溶着は大きな接着面に対し
ては十分な接着力が得られず、比較的小さな50 m/
mφ以下ぐらいの接着面に対しては非常に強力な接着力
が得られる。例えば、特開昭58−203645号公報
には光ディスクの内周部を超音波溶着し、外周部をホッ
トメルト接着した光ディスクが提案されている。しかし
、この場合2種類の接着法を用いるために更に生産コス
トが高くなる。
又、特開昭58−194153号公報には、比較的大き
な300m/mφ以下ぐらいの接着面に対しても十分な
接着力を得るために、スペーサーの突起部を2列に4m
/m幅で平行して付けるという方法が提案されている。
しかしながら、この場合ディスク基板がポリカーボネー
ト製であるものに対しては十分な接着力が得られない。
ポリカーボネートはポリメチルメタクリレートよりも耐
熱性、耐衝撃性が優れ、吸水率も小さく、環境変化に対
する湾曲(変形)も少ないために近年多く使用されるよ
うになってきた。
又、一般に超音波溶着による接着性能はポリスチレン、
ポリメチルメタクリレートのような硬くてもろい樹脂は
良好であるが、ポリカーボネート、セルロースアセテー
トのように柔らかくて強靭な樹脂は超音波溶着て十分な
接着力を得るのが比較的困難である。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
本発明者らは、かかる従来の光ディスクの欠点を改良す
べく鋭意研究の結果、本発明を完成するに至った。
即ち、本発明は、2枚の光ディスク基板を記録膜を内側
にして、中間にスペーサーを挟んで超音波溶着により貼
り合わせたエアーサンドイッチ構造の光ディスクにおい
て、基板がポリカーボネートからなり、スペーサーがポ
リメチルメタクリレートからなることを特徴とする光デ
ィスクを提供するものである・。
〔実施例〕
本発明の実施態様を図面に基づいて更に詳しく述べる。
第1図は本発明の光ディスクの一実施例の超音波溶着前
の状態を示す断面図である。
本実施例の光ディスクは2枚のポリカーボネート製のデ
ィスク基板1を記録膜層2を内側にして、中間にポリメ
チルメタクリレートからなる外周用突起付きスペーサー
8及びポリメチルメタクリレートからなる内周用突起付
きスペーサー9を挟んだものであり、これを上から超音
波振動を与えると、第2図に示すような超音波溶着によ
り貼り合わされたエアーサンドイッチ構造の光ディスク
が出来上がる。
〔発明の効果〕
本発明の光ディスクは接着が容易であり、溶着時間が短
縮できる。又、十分な接着力を持ち、接着が均一になる
ので、ディスクのねじれ、そり等が防止でき、読みとり
エラーが少なくなる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1.  2枚の光ディスク基板を記録膜を内側にして、中間に
    スペーサーを挟んで超音波溶着により貼り合わせたエア
    ーサンドイッチ構造の光ディスクにおいて、基板がポリ
    カーボネートからなり、スペーサーがポリメチルメタク
    リレートからなることを特徴とする光ディスク。
