Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 本考案は、メーターケーブルとケーシングチユ
ーブの加熱溶着装置に関する。
自動車用メーターケーブルAは、第1図に示す
ように、アウターワイヤaにインナーワイヤbを
内装して成り、これをメータに対する係止具d及
び鍔部eを備えたケーシングチユーブBのジヨイ
ントチユーブcに接合して、メーター(図示せ
ず)に接続使用している。このメーターケーブル
AとケーシングチユーブBとの接合、すなわち管
状体同志の円曲面での接合は、従来、溶剤、接着
剤、熱などを用いて行つて来た。しかし、溶剤、
接着剤の場合は、接合面のズレ防止のための位置
決めが面倒で、接着後の乾燥に時間がかゝる等の
欠点がある。また、熱による溶着は加熱チツプの
温度管理が困難で、これを解決するため超音波や
高周波による溶着方法も提案されているが、ケー
シングチユーブの端面に熱応力によるクラツクが
生じたり、アウターワイヤの内面に突起が生成し
てインナーワイヤに接触する溶着面での欠点があ
るうえに、装置が大型化し、高価となり、一般に
は採用し難くかつた。
本考案は上記した点に着目してなされたもの
で、メーターケーブルに対するケーシングチユー
ブの溶着位置を確定しつつ溶着操作が簡単且つ確
実に為し得るようにしたメーターケーブルとケー
シングチユーブの加熱溶着装置を提供するもので
ある。
次に、図面を参照しながら実施例について説明
する。
ベース盤1の中央に、相対向する一対の赤外線
ヒータ2,2を設ける。このヒータ2,2は伸縮
自在のアーム2a,2aを介して取付台2b,2
bに装着し、その間隔を自由に調節して被溶着物
に対する照射距離を変えられるようにする。
ヒータ2,2と直交する方向の一側にホルダ
3、他側に固定台6を設置し、その間に順次圧接
挾持具4及び鍔押え台5を位置せしめる。
ホルダ3は、アウターワイヤを緊締固定するも
ので、その上面にU字状の載置溝3aを形成し、
該溝3aの一側にシリンダ3cによる開閉する湾
曲挾持板3bを装着する。
圧接挾持具4は、メーターケーブルとケーシン
グチユーブのヒータ2,2による溶着箇所を両側
から押圧し、接合を確実にするもので、取付台4
aに一対の挾持子4b,4bを開閉自在に枢着し
(開閉手段は図示省略)、また取付台4aはシリン
ダ等によりヒータ2,2側にスライドするように
構成する。
鍔押え台5は、上部にケーシングチユーブに対
するU字状の切欠部5aを形成すると共に、シリ
ンダ(図示省略)により作動する駆動杆5bによ
り、固定台6に向けて接離自在に設ける。
固定台6は、鍔押え台5と協働してケーシング
チユーブの位置決め及びインナーワイヤの芯出し
距離(出張り寸法)を一定にして、これを固定す
るためのものであり、その上面に形成した段部6
aに、L字形の挾持桿7をピン7aにより枢着す
る。
この挾持桿7は、一端内面にインナーワイヤに
対する挿入ガイド溝7bを有し、他端はシリンダ
(図示省略)により作動する駆動杆7cに連結
し、該駆動杆7cの動作により、段部6aの側壁
6bに固定した受板6cと挾持桿7の挿入ガイド
溝7bにより、インナーワイヤの先端部を一定の
距離だけ喰え込み挾持する如く構成する。
次に、使用方法について説明する。
先ず、ケーシングチユーブBのジヨイントチユ
ーブcにメーターケーブルAのアウターワイヤa
を挿入し、これを鍔部eが固定台6に面するよう
に、鍔押え台5、取付台4aおよびホルダ3の載
置溝3aに互つて載置する。
なお、ジヨイントチユーブcは例えば赤色半透
明のポリプロピレン製、アウターワイヤaは黒色
ポリプロピレン製等のように、前者は透明ないし
半透明の、また後者は不透明の合成樹脂製のパイ
プである。
次いで、鍔押え台5をシリンダ5bにより固定
台6に向けて移動させ、ケーシングチユーブBの
鍔部eを固定する。一方、該チユーブBの先端よ
り突出させたインナーワイヤbの先端を所定の長
さだけ、挾持桿7の挿入ガイド溝7bに進入させ
た後、シリンダ7cの作動により該溝7bと受板
6c間に、挾持固定する。
然る後、ホルダ3のシリンダ3cを駆動して、
メーターケーブルAのアウターワイヤaを湾曲挾
持板3bにより締付け固定し、赤外線ヒータ2,
2を照射する。
ヒータ2,2は、24V、200Wのハロゲンラン
プを備えた場合、被溶着物との距離20〜40mmで、
2〜5秒間照射すれば充分である。このヒータ
2,2からの照射光は、ジヨイントチユーブcを
透過し、アウターワイヤaとの接触面で発熱し、
溶着する。
ヒータ2,2による照射が終了したら、圧接挾
持具4をヒータ2,2間に移動させ、その溶着部
分Cを挾持子4b,4bにより両側より圧接し
て、接合の強化及び成形を行う。なお、この際、
溶着部分に冷却空気等を圧送し、強制的冷却する
ことにより時間を短縮出来る。
最後に、駆動杆3c,7cの駆動により、夫々
湾曲挾板3b、挾持桿7を開放しつゝ、圧接挾持
具4および鍔押え台5を元の位置に復帰させるこ
とにより、溶着操作は完了する。
以上の一連の操作は公知のシーケンス制御回路
等により自動化が容易であり、被溶着物であるメ
ーターケーブルとケーシングチユーブに対する赤
外線ヒータの照射時間、距離などの条件を設定す
ることにより、一定の品質のものを得ることがで
きる。
以上は固定台6にL字形の挾持桿7を枢着し、
インナーワイヤの芯出し、固定を行う例について
説明したが、該インナーワイヤが既にアウターワ
イヤ内で位置決めされているときは省略すること
ができる。
本考案は上記した如くに成るものであるから、
メーターケーブルに対するケーシングチユーブの
溶着位置を確定しつつ短時間で簡単かつ確実に溶
着接合できる。
特に本考案においては、一対の赤外線ヒータを
相対向して設け、赤外線照射による溶着後に該溶
着部に対して進退する圧接挾持具により加圧する
ものであるから溶着時間を大巾に短縮しつつ溶着
の強度を上げることができる。

Claims (1)

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. ケーシングチユーブのジヨイントチユーブと、
    該ジヨイントチユーブに挿入されたメーターケー
    ブルのアウターワイヤとを加熱により溶着する装
    置であつて、相対向して設けた一対の赤外線ヒー
    タと、該一対の赤外線ヒータの中間部の直交する
    方向の一側に設置したメーターケーブルに対する
    ホルダ及び他側に設置したケーシングチユーブに
    対する固定台と、上記の直交する方向において移
    動自在に設けたケーシングチユーブを載置する切
    欠部を有する鍔押え台及び一対の開閉自在な挾持
    子を有する圧接挾持具とより成り、該鍔押え台は
    ケーシングチユーブの鍔部を該固定台との間で挾
    持してケーシングチユーブのジヨイントチユーブ
    を位置決めし、該圧接挾持具は一対の赤外線ヒー
    タ間に進退して挾持子によりジヨイントチユーブ
    とアウターワイヤとの溶着部分を圧接することを
    特徴とするメーターケーブルとケーシングチユー
    ブの加熱溶着装置。
