Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit sure correction of the deflection of work rolls and reduction of an equipment cost by disposing back up rolls in such a manner that said rolls can be moved in a rolling direction while the rolls are held in rolling contact with work rolls. CONSTITUTION:Roll twists 15, 17 and 16, 18 are disposed respectively in parallel on the drive side and work side of the back up rolls 3, 4. Both ends of roll shafts 3a, 4a are freely bendably and turnably connected by means of universal joints, etc., to the roll twists 15, 16 on both sides in the upper part and the roll twists 17, 18 on both sides in the lower part. The rolls 3, 4 and the rolls 1, 2 form the relational positions of twists when the roll twists 15, 17 and 16, 18 are moved backward by such mechanism. The characteristics of a rolling load distribution are optimized by adjusting the moving quantity of the roll twists 15-18, by which the deflection of the work rolls 1, 2 is surely prevented. The equipment cost is further reduced by the simplified mechanism.

Figure 6 shows, for example, the results of the Japan Iron and Steel Association; 3rd Edition Steel Handbook ■ (1
) is a front view of a four-high rolling mill having a beam-type back-up roll bender shown in FIG. In the figure, 1.2 is a pair of upper and lower work rolls that are supported in a fixed position and between which the material to be rolled is passed, and 3.4 is a pair of upper and lower back-up rolls that are arranged in rolling contact with these work rolls 1 and 2. Rolls 3a, 4.a are the roll axes of the backup rolls 3, 4; 5.6 are the roll axes 3a of the backup rolls 3, 4 at parallel positions spaced apart from each other;
A pair of upper and lower beams connected to 4a and movable in the relative direction (direction of pressing the work rolls 1 and 2); 7 to 10 support both ends of the roll shafts 3a and 4a in fixed positions; and a backup roll bender movably supporting both ends of the beams 5 and 6;
- 14 are hydraulic cylinders provided in each of the benders 7 - 10 for synchronously driving the beams 5 and 6 in relative directions. Next, the operation will be explained. When the material to be rolled is passed between the work rolls 1 and 2, the rolling reaction force causes each of the upper work roll 1 and the upper back-up roll 3 to bend in a chevron shape as shown by the dotted line (A), and the lower The work roll 2 and the lower back-up roll 4 are each bent in a valley shape as shown by the dotted line (B). Therefore, in order to correct the above-mentioned deflection, the hydraulic cylinders 11 to 1
4 is extended, the upper and lower beams 5°6 move in the relative directions as shown by the arrows, and each backup roll 3,
By pushing the roll shafts 3a, 4a of No. 4 inside their both end support parts, the upper backup roll 3 is bent into a valley shape as shown by the dashed line (a), and at the same time the lower backup roll 4 is bent. It is bent into a chevron shape as shown by the single-point chain &1l (b). As a result, the deflection of the upper work roll 1 and the lower work roll 2 as described above is corrected.

Since the conventional four-high rolling mill is configured as described above, it not only requires the beam 5.6 but also four large hydraulic cylinders 11 to 10 to bend the large diameter backup rolls 3 and 4. 14 and other large-scale auxiliary equipment such as a hydraulic control system are required, resulting in a complicated structure and a large increase in equipment costs. This invention was made to solve the above problems, so
The object of the present invention is to obtain a rolling device that can smoothly and reliably correct the deflection of work rolls due to rolling reaction force using simple small-scale equipment.

Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. FIG. 1 is a plan view of a rolling apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a side view thereof, and the same or corresponding parts as in FIG. 5 are given the same reference numerals. In the figure, 15 to 18 are vertical and horizontal roll twists arranged on both sides of the backup roll 3.4. Among these roll twists 15 to 18, roll twist 15.17 on one side of the upper and lower sides is the drive side, and roll twist 16.18 on the other side is the work side. These roll twists 15 to 18 are parallel to each other, and the drive side roll twist 15.17 and the work side roll twist 16.18 are provided so as to be able to reciprocate in opposite directions along the rolling direction of the material to be rolled. It is designed to be driven by an omitted hydraulic cylinder or the like. . still,
The driving means is not necessarily limited to a hydraulic cylinder. Both ends of the roll shaft 3a of the upper back-up roll 3 are connected to the roll twists 15 and 16 on both sides of the upper part, and both ends of the roll shaft 4a of the lower back-up roll 4 are connected to the roll twists 17 and 18 on both sides of the lower part. They are flexibly and rotatably connected via a universal joint (not shown) or the like. Next, the operation will be explained. Drive side roll twist 15.17 and work side roll twist 16
.. If you move 18 in the opposite direction, back unroll 3
, 4 are rotated horizontally and are displaced obliquely on the same horizontal plane with respect to the work roll 1.2. As a result, the backup rolls 3 and 4 and the work roll 1. 2 are placed in a torsion relationship with each other. In this state, when a rolling load is applied to both ends of the roll shafts 3a, 4a of the backup rolls 3.4, a large rolling load is applied to the center of each of the backup rolls 3, 4. A rolling load distribution as shown in Figure 3 is obtained. Therefore, by adjusting the amount of movement of the roll twists 15 to 18, the characteristics of the rolling load distribution can be changed. By obtaining such a rolling load distribution, even if the work roll 1.2 tries to deflect due to the rolling reaction force of the material to be rolled passing between the work rolls 1 and 2, the deflection will be caused by the back unroll 3, 4, and the rolling accuracy is improved. FIG. 4 shows another embodiment. In this embodiment, each roll surface of the backup rolls 3 and 4 is formed into a drum shape. In the case of this embodiment, when no rolling load is applied to both ends of the roll shafts 3a, 4a of the backup rolls 3.4, the backup rolls 3, 4 and the work roll 1.
The roll twists 15 to 18 are moved so that the roll twists 15 to 18 are in contact with each other at two points: point (A) and point (B). In this state, when a rolling load is applied to both ends of the roll shafts 3a and 4a, a rolling load distribution is obtained that is maximum at the two points, point (A) and point (B), as shown in FIG. It will be done. This rolling load distribution provides the same effects as in the previous embodiment. In each of the above embodiments, a four-high rolling machine has been described, but the rolling machine of the present invention can also be applied to other systems such as a six-high rolling machine. In the case of a six-high rolling mill, roll twists may be attached to the intermediate work rolls and backup rolls, and by forming the intermediate work rolls and backup rolls into a drum shape, it is possible to achieve the same effect as in the above embodiment. Similar effects can be obtained.

As described above, according to the present invention, simply by moving a pair of backup rolls disposed in rolling contact with a pair of work rolls that roll a material to be rolled in the rolling direction while maintaining rolling contact with the work rolls, Since the backup roll and the work roll are placed in a twisted relationship with each other, the deflection of the work roll due to rolling reaction force can be reliably corrected by the backup roll. In addition, it has a simple configuration that does not require any beams or large-scale incidental equipment like conventional rolling mills with beam-type backup roll benders, so equipment costs can be significantly reduced while the above-mentioned beam It has the effect of being able to obtain the same excellent rolling load distribution as the type bank up roll bender.
