DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION (Field of Application of the Invention) The present invention relates to a method for producing paper having a wide variety of watermark images, and furthermore, a watermark image having shading.

(Prior art) Conventionally, as a method for producing paper having a watermark image, two methods are: gluing a paper pattern cut out in the pattern of the image onto a papermaking mesh; and (2) attaching a photosensitive resin liquid to a flat mesh plate made of synthetic resin or metal fiber. A monochrome film with an image taken on it is then pressure-bonded to a dried photosensitive resin plate.

A method is known in which paper is made by irradiating this with light and printing it, and then dissolving and removing the resin in the unexposed areas and stacking the halftone plate on a paper making cylinder.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in all of these methods, the papermaking pulp liquid does not pass through the watermark, and if the watermark has a large area, continuous paper waste cannot be formed. Since it was not possible to produce watermarked paper with the desired image in the process, the method used was to prepare a thin paper layer corresponding to the watermarked area in advance, and then layer the non-watermarked area on top of it. .

(Means for Solving the Problems) As a result of intensive studies in order to solve the above problems, the inventors of the present invention found that by providing drainage holes also in the mesh portion corresponding to the watermark portion, the paper making liquid can be distributed throughout the paper making process. The present invention was achieved by discovering that the watermark part also forms continuous paper waste depending on the shading of the image.

That is, 9 the present invention provides that when producing paper having a watermark image from a pulp dispersion using a papermaking halftone plate, the local opening area ratio of the halftone plate with an image used corresponds to the density of the image and is at least 5%. Further, preferably, a paper halftone plate is used in which a dotted sheet or a contact screen or the like having a light-shielding area ratio of 5 to 40% is placed, exposed and printed from two surfaces, and the photosensitive resin in the non-exposed area is eluted and removed. The present invention relates to a paper manufacturing method characterized by using a paper making liquid whose viscosity has been adjusted by adding a thickener such as polyethylene oxide.

本発明において開口面積率は次の式で算出される。In the present invention, the opening area ratio is calculated using the following formula.

If it exceeds 50, it is not preferable because the passage resistance of the paper making liquid is large and it becomes difficult to make paper in thick paper waste portions. or.

The dot-like sheet sometimes used for exposure and printing includes a sheet-like material in which dot-like light-shielding figures are arranged at approximately equal intervals on a transparent sheet-like material such as a plastic film or a glass plate. The sheet preferably has a light-shielding area ratio of approximately 5-40%. If it is less than 5%, the paper making liquid cannot pass through that part and a stable continuous paper layer is formed.
If it exceeds 0%, the amount of paper making liquid passing through is large and the intended design cannot be expressed, which is not preferable. The dotted light-shielding figures to be arranged may be disk-shaped, elliptical, star-shaped, square, or other shapes as long as the paper-making liquid can pass through holes of that shape.

Example 1 A photosensitive resin (trade name: Aqua Coat) was applied to the entire surface of an 80-mesh Tetron screen measuring 1.1 m in length and 3.8 m in width to a dry weight of 30 g/m'', dried, and left untreated. A photosensitive resin plate was used. On this resin plate, a diameter of 200 m was placed in order.
A monochrome positive film photographed with a disc-shaped black pattern of 260μ in diameter and black halftone dots with a diameter of 260μ are arranged vertically and horizontally, the average light-shielding area ratio is 30%, and the number of lines is 30 lines/in c.
After stacking the halftone sheets of h and exposing and baking them using arc lamp illumination, the positive film and halftone sheets are removed, and the photosensitive resin in the unexposed areas is eluted to create a halftone plate with an image. did.

No resin remained in the area corresponding to the halftone image, and the 80-mesh Tetron screen of the support was exposed, and the oven area ratio was about 50%.
Further, in the non-image portion of this halftone plate, the resin was eluted only from the halftone dots of the halftone sheet, and the open area ratio was about 30%. Such a mesh plate was wound and fixed on a stainless steel wire (80 mesh, porosity 30%) of a circular cylinder with a diameter of 1.2 m, and placed in a cylinder paper machine vat to produce L-wood pulp with a freeness of 20'SR. A sticky agent: polyethylene oxide having a pulp solid content of 0.5% based on the pulp solid content was added to the slurry, and paper was made through a paper making liquid adjusted to 0.3% based on the solid content of the solution.

The average basis weight of the obtained dry paper was 60.3 g/W1', the thick image area was 149μ, the thin non-image area was 90μ, and the large watermark image area had almost no thickness unevenness. Further, the aperture area ratio of the darkest part of the nine image areas was 100%, and the opening area ratio of the thinnest part was 7%. Comparative Example 1 Paper was made in exactly the same manner as in Example 1, except that a printed halftone plate with an image was used instead of the halftone sheet used over the positive film in Example 1. The thin non-image portions of the dried paper obtained were hardly paper-like, and the paper as a whole was poor in practical use.Comparative Example 2 Paper was made in the same manner as in Example 1, except that a 30-mesh Tetron screen was used. I did it. For this reason, since the mesh of the support was large, the photosensitive curing resin fell off from the support, and the obtained image could not be reproduced as in the original. Further, when a 200 mesh paper was used, the support itself did not have sufficient strength and paper could not be made continuously for a long period of time.

Comparative Example 3 In Examples 1 and 3, paper was made without using a thickener. Paper with a watermark and an image was obtained, but the boundary between the non-image area and the image area became unclear compared to when a thickener was used, and the image clarity could not be obtained.
