Conventionally, electronic musical instruments have been developed that allow a fill-in rhythm pattern to be inserted at the end of a measure during automatic rhythm performance using a normal rhythm pattern. It has become necessary to manipulate it. For this reason, when both hands are occupied for playing a melody or accompaniment, the switch cannot be operated, and it is therefore difficult to always perform a fill-in rhythm performance at a desired location.

A RAM section (random access memory) 8 is a memory that stores the location where the fill-in rhythm is inserted. Further, this RAM section 8 has an internal address counter (not shown). In this case, the insertion point of the fill-in is memorized by determining which note position it corresponds to in the score of the melody that is played manually at the same time.In other words, the order of the notes is determined in the RAM section. 8 is stored. Writing of this order is done by actually playing the melody and turning on a predetermined switch when the fill-in insertion point is reached. And in that case,
CPU4 outputs an increment signal INC,
The address of the RAM section 8 is incremented after the ranking is written. Further, the above ranking is given by the output of the counter 9. That is, this counter 9 counts the +1 signal outputted from the CPU 4 each time the melody manually played during the above-mentioned write operation advances one note at a time. Further, this +1 signal is outputted in conjunction with the manual performance of the melody even during automatic rhythm performance. The output of the counter 9 in that case is given to the matching circuit 10. The above-mentioned ranking data read out from the RAM section 8 is input to the coincidence circuit 10 and compared with the output of the counter 9. When the two match, the match circuit 10 outputs a match signal, and the SR flip-flop 11
It is supplied to the set input terminal S of the CPU 4 as well as to the set input terminal S of the CPU 4. In addition, in response to this, the CPU 4 outputs an increment signal INC and supplies it to the RAM unit 8 to advance the address to the next one. Note that the CPU 4 outputs a read/write control signal R/W to the RAM section 8.

The ROM 12 receives address designation by the output of the address counter 14. This address counter 14 is driven by a signal output from an oscillation section 15 to perform a counting operation. On the other hand, the ROM 13 is addressed by the output of the address counter 16.
This address counter 16 also inputs the output signal of the oscillation section 15 via the transfer gate 17 and performs a counting operation.

First, the mode switch 3 is set to the switching position "W" to enter the write mode. At this time, the CPU 4 outputs a read/write signal R/W of a write command and supplies it to the RAM section 8. Next, the melody is manually played by operating the keys on the keyboard section 1. In this case, each key operation for one note
A +1 signal is output from the CPU 4 and is applied to the counter 9 for counting. Further, the CPU 4 outputs corresponding musical tone information and provides it to the musical tone creation section 5. Therefore, the musical tone is created and emitted from the speaker 7, and the progress of the melody can be confirmed by ear. When the manual performance progresses to the first fill-in insertion point, the manual performance is temporarily interrupted and a switch for specifying the fill-in insertion point is turned on once. At this time, the count value of counter 9 is 3.
4 (FIG. 3), data "34" is written to address 0 of the RAM section 8. Further, the CPU 4 outputs an increment signal INC, and the RAM section 8 is incremented to address 1.

Next, the manual performance is continued until the second and third fill-ins are inserted, and the switch is turned on at each fill-in position. As a result, data "50" and "91" are written to addresses 1 and 2 of the RAM section 8, respectively, as shown in FIG.

Next, automatic rhythm performance is started by operating a start switch (not shown), etc., and at the same time, manual performance of the melody shown in FIG. 2 is started. At this time, the oscillator 15 starts operating and sends its output signal to the address counter 14 and transfer gate 1.
7. Give to the transfer gate group 22 and beat counter 18, respectively. Therefore, address counter 1
4. The beat counters 18 each perform a counting operation, and the transfer gate group 22 is opened each time. Further, the beat counter 18 outputs a signal at the "1" level every time one measure ends, and resets the flip-flop 11 and address counter 16 each time.

On the other hand, the counter 9 counts +1 signals and provides the counting output to the matching circuit 10. Data "34" read from address 0 of the RAM section 8 is given to the coincidence circuit 10, and the coincidence circuit 10 constantly performs a coincidence detection operation between both inputs. Therefore, until the manual performance progresses to the first fill-in point (that is, when the count value of the counter 9 reaches 34), the flip-flop 11 is always in the reset state, and the set output changes accordingly. 0'' level, the transfer gate 17 is closed, the gate circuit 19 is closed, and the gate circuit 20 is opened. Therefore, during this time, the ROM 12 sequentially outputs normal rhythm pattern data from the address designated by the output of the address counter 14, and applies it to the rhythm sound source group 23 via the gate circuit 20 and transfer gate group 22. Therefore, the speaker 7 emits the annual performance melody and normal automatic rhythm.

Next, when the performance progresses to the first fill-in point, the count value of the counter 9 becomes 34, and the coincidence circuit 10 outputs a coincidence signal of the "1" level. As a result, the flip-flop 11 enters the set state, and its set output is inverted to the "1" level.
Also, RAM8 now specifies address 1. Therefore, the transfer gate 17 is opened and the counting operation of the address counter 16 is started, and the gate circuit 19 is also opened and the gate circuit 20 is closed. Therefore, the rhythm pattern data from the ROM 12 is blocked, and fill-in rhythm pattern data from the ROM 13 is instead applied to the rhythm sound source group 23 via the gate circuit 19 and the transfer gate group 22. As a result of this operation, the beat counter 18 then outputs a "1" level signal. is executed until Therefore, during this time, the manually played melody and fill-in rhythm are emitted.
