Traditional methods for painting molded objects include the transfer method and the suminagashi method (a film of oil-based ink representing a pattern is floated on the surface of water, and the object to be painted is inserted from above the film of oil-based ink toward the water surface to create a film of oil-based ink. The commonly used methods include the inject method (a method in which a patterned sheet is attached to a mold, injection molded, and the pattern is applied at the same time as molding).

As a result of research to develop a painting method that eliminates the drawbacks of the conventional methods described above, the present inventor has developed a method of painting on a base sheet made of thermoformable plastic film that has releasability to the base sheet. Further, a release layer made of a thermoformable resin is provided, a pattern printing layer made of a thermoformable resin is provided on the release layer, and then a thermoformable resin is provided on the release layer on which the pattern printing layer is provided. A transfer sheet provided with an adhesive layer made of a resin having thermal adhesive properties is attached to an injection mold with the adhesive layer surface facing the gate of the injection mold, and then injection molding is performed. The inventors have discovered that by removing the molded product with the transfer sheet from the injection mold after aging and then peeling off the base material of the transfer sheet, it is possible to obtain a decorated molded product with the above-mentioned drawbacks eliminated, and this knowledge has been achieved. The present invention has been completed based on this.

That is, the gist of the present invention is to provide a release layer made of a thermoformable resin on a base sheet made of a thermoformable plastic film, and to provide a release layer made of a thermoformable resin that is releasable to the base sheet. A pattern printing layer made of a thermoformable resin was provided, and then an adhesive layer made of a thermoformable and thermoadhesive resin was provided on the release layer on which the pattern printing layer was provided. Attach the transfer sheet to the injection mold with the adhesive layer side facing the gate of the injection mold,
This is a method for producing a decorated molded article, which is characterized in that after injection molding is performed, the molded article with the transfer sheet is removed from the injection mold, and then the base sheet of the transfer sheet is peeled off.

The base sheet, release layer, pattern printing layer, and adhesive layer that make up the above transfer sheet are made of thermoformable materials, and the transfer sheet itself is formed to have thermoformability as described below. This is to enable the transfer sheet to be molded into a shape that perfectly follows the mold surface of the injection mold by the heat and pressure during the injection molding process.

The transfer sheet 5 is placed on the core (male mold) 6 or the cavity (female mold) 7 of the injection mold as shown in the second diagram, and its adhesive layer 4 is applied to the gate 10 of the injection mold as shown in the third diagram. Attach it facing toward. Next, resin 8 is injected into the molded part through the gate 10 to form a molded part as shown in the fourth figure. Thereafter, the molded product 9 with the transfer sheet 5 is removed from the injection mold, and then the base sheet 1 is peeled off as shown in Figure 5 to obtain a decorated molded product.

Next, in the manufacturing method of the present invention, the transfer sheet does not need to be attached completely along the mold surface of the mold. This is because the heat and pressure during injection molding causes the transfer sheet to be molded into a shape that perfectly follows the mold surface of the mold. Further, in order to facilitate thermoforming, it is desirable to preheat the transfer sheet before mounting it on a mold.

As described in detail above, according to the manufacturing method of the present invention, a decorated molded product can be obtained by simultaneously performing molding of a molded product and transfer painting onto the surface of the molded product.
Furthermore, in the present invention, the transfer sheet is molded into a shape that follows the mold surface of the mold using heat and pressure during injection molding, and the adhesive layer surface is adhered to the injection resin to transfer the design printing layer to the surface of the molded product. Therefore, even the surface of a molded product having unevenness can be easily decorated. Further, in the present invention, it is not necessary to preform the illustrated sheet and trim unnecessary portions of the illustrated sheet, so that manufacturing is easy.
