This relates to a method of connecting a base paper roll (width 200 to 1500 mm) before slitting, or a slit tape that is being wound by a paper winding machine.

In the figure, numerals 11 and 11 are composite tapes to be connected, which are made by laminating kraft paper 13 on both sides of a plastic film 12. The connection is performed by butting the ends of the composite tapes 11, 11 together and pasting thin (20 to 100 μm) kraft paper 14 on both sides of the abutting portion using an adhesive. Note that thin kraft paper 14 may be pasted only on one side of the abutting portion.

14が切れてテープ切れを起し易い欠点がある。 However, in this method, since the connection kraft paper 14 is pasted on the outside of the connection part, this part becomes locally thick and tends to create local discontinuities in the power cable after the conductor is wound. Also, when it thickens locally,
That part becomes locally hard, and when it passes through various rollers just before being wound onto the conductor, it is unable to follow the radius of curvature of the rollers, and the connecting kraft paper 14 breaks at the connection part, causing the tape to break. There are some easy drawbacks.

The tape may smudge, and the kraft paper of the composite tape on the outer layer or the inner layer and the connecting kraft paper 14 may get stuck together. In particular, when the kraft paper of the composite tape is moistened and used as known in Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-38237 as a measure against swelling of the composite tape in oil, the adhesive may be dry at first. However, over time, it absorbs moisture and softens, and eventually oozes through the connecting kraft paper 14 into the outer layer or the inner layer, and as mentioned above, the connecting kraft paper becomes the kraft paper of the composite tape in the outer layer or the inner layer. Sometimes I get stuck.

There is a risk of losing it.

法を提供せんとするものである。 The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and the terminal portions of the composite insulating tapes on both sides to be connected are peeled off in appropriate steps, so that the plastic films on both sides are in a butt state, and at least By joining the plastic film on one side and the kraft paper on the other side so that they overlap, and gluing the overlapping inner surfaces, there is little local increase in thickness at the joint, and the connection is strong.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for connecting composite insulating tapes that can prevent the adhesive from seeping out to the outside of the connecting portion, if necessary.

FIGS. 2A to 2F are longitudinal cross-sectional views of a connecting portion for explaining an embodiment of the method of the present invention. In the figure, 1 and 1' are composite tapes to be connected,
Kraft papers 3 and 3' are laminated on both sides of plastic films 2 and 2', respectively. These composite tapes 1 and 1' are first coated with kraft paper 3 (or 3') on one side of the terminal part or with plastic film 2 (or 2'), depending on the form of the respective connection parts shown in Figures A to F. is removed and cut into steps (hereinafter, this operation is referred to as "step peeling"). In this case, since the adhesive force between the kraft paper 3 (or 3') and the plastic film 2 (or 2') of the composite tape is such that it can be peeled off manually, this operation is easy.

好ましい。 In the method shown in Fig. 1, the end portion 4 of the composite tape 1 on one side is cut and removed by peeling off the kraft paper 3 on one side, and the end portion 4' of the composite tape 1' on the other side is separated from the kraft paper 3' on one side and the plastic. After peeling off the film 2' all at once and cutting it to the same length as the kraft paper 3, the tapes 1 and 1' on both sides of these peeled steps are connected, and the plastic films 2 and 2' on both sides are brought into contact with each other. The plastic film 2 and the kraft paper 3' are placed one on top of the other, and the inside surfaces of this overlap are bonded together with an adhesive 5. During this bonding, if heat is applied with an iron or the like from above the kraft paper 3', moisture in the adhesive 5 will be absorbed into the kraft paper 3'.
Because it comes out easily through the adhesive, it dries and hardens quickly after being applied. As the adhesive 5, for example, natural water-soluble rubber glue, starch glue, etc. are preferable because they do not deteriorate the electrical properties after being immersed in oil, are inexpensive, and are easy to handle.
この方法によると、接続部の厚さ増加は無い。

Note that if the composite tape is thin, one-sided connection will provide sufficient strength.

The end portions 4, 4' of the kraft paper 3,
3', the plastic films 2 and 2' are peeled off in this order, and the cut lengths of the kraft paper 3 and 3' are made longer and the cut lengths of the plastic films 2 and 2' are made shorter and the steps are peeled off. The tapes 1 and 1' are connected, the plastic films 2 and 2' on both sides are pressed together, the plastic film 2 or 2' and the kraft paper 3' or 3 are overlapped, and the inside surfaces of these overlaps are coated with adhesive 5. , 5 are pasted together in the same manner as in Figure A. In the case of this method as well, there is no increase in the thickness of the connection part, and since there are only two adhesives, the connection becomes stronger.

である。 In the method shown in Figures A and B above, when there is no risk of the adhesive oozing through the kraft paper 3, 3', that is, when the composite tape is not subjected to humidity control treatment, the amount of kraft paper compared to the amount of adhesive is 3,
If 3' is thick, if kraft paper 3, 3' is thin, there is enough time to dry it after adhesion and there is no risk of smearing, or if you do not have enough time to dry it with humidity control treatment or use thin paper. Even if the composite tape is connected, it will not cause any damage to the composite tape.
For example, it is effective when applied to the connection of composite tapes fed from one tape pad in a paper roll of a paper winding machine.

項記載の複合絶縁テープの接続法。[Scope of Claims] 1. In a method for connecting composite insulating tapes made by laminating kraft paper on both sides of a plastic film, the kraft paper on one side of each end portion of the tapes on both sides to be connected, or the plastic film with the kraft paper on one side, When the steps are peeled off and the two terminal parts are joined together, the plastic films on both sides are in contact with each other, and at least the plastic film on one side and the kraft paper on the other side are overlapped. A method for connecting composite insulating tape, characterized by bonding the mating inner surfaces with an adhesive. 2. The method for connecting a composite insulating tape according to claim 1, wherein the overlapping surface of the plastic film and the mating kraft paper exists only on one side of the abutting portion of the plastic films on both sides. 3. The method for connecting composite insulating tapes according to claim 2, wherein the side opposite to the adhesive-coated surface of the overlapping kraft paper is covered with kraft paper continuous from one composite insulating tape. 4 Claim 1 in which the overlapping surfaces of the plastic film and the opposing craft paper are present on both sides of the abutting portions of the plastic films on both sides.
Connection method of composite insulating tape described in section. 5. Claim 4, wherein the overlapping surface of the kraft paper opposite to the adhesive-coated surface is covered with continuous kraft paper from the composite insulating tapes on both sides.
Connection method of composite insulating tape described in section.
