Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the sodium percarbonate useful as a bleaching agent for clothes and kitchenware and having a uniform foaming property and excellent water solubility with high efficiency and with reduced loss in effective oxygen by heating sodium percarbonate in a horizontal rotary heater. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal rotary heater is slightly inclined and rotated at a peripheral velocity of 1-20m/min, and a fixed amt. of sodium percarbonate is continuously charged from the upper part. The sodium percarbonate is mechanically agitated by the heated side wall and a coil, and simultaneously heated. Air or an inert gas is introduced at 1-3m<3>/hr per kg sodium percarbonate to uniformly heat the percarbonate at 110-135 deg.C for 5-60min.
