Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled conjugate fiber, having a core, island and sea components wholly consisting of different polyesters and having dry heat shrinkage, alkali weight reduction ratio and size under specific condition, containing the island component dispersed in the sea component surrounding the core component and capable or providing fabrics having excellent feeling and aesthetic properties. CONSTITUTION:A polymer of a core component (A) is passed from a spinneret inflow hole 1 through a capillary part 2 and conduit 3 to an opening 4. A polymer flow of an island component (B) is passed through reservoirs 5 and 5', introduced into inflow holes 6 and 6', passed through capillary parts 7 and 7' and conduits 8 and 8' to openings 9 and 9'. A polymer flow of a sea component (C) is introduced from reservoirs 10 and 10' into inflow holes 11 and 11', passed through passages 12 and 12' provided around the conduits 8 and 8' and associated in the openings 9 and 9' of the component (B). Thereby a conjugate flow is formed from the island component (B) as a core and the sea component (C) as a sheath. A ternary conjugate flow is formed in an association part 14 and then discharged from a spinneret discharge hole 15 to afford the aimed conjugate fiber having a dry heat shrinkage of the core component (A) >=10% higher than that of the island component (B), >=30 alkali weight reduction rate and the cross section satisfying formula I (DA is denier of the core component; DB is denier of one island component (B)), formulas II and III (FB is the number of islands of the island component (B)).
