Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a group IIIa element-group IIa element-Cu-O based superconductor, having homogeneous composition elements and crystal structure, capable of increasing the critical current and having the high transition temperature, by using one of compound raw materials containing respective constituent elements as a hydrogen compound. CONSTITUTION:Compound raw materials containing each one of group IIIa element (Sc, Y or rare earth elements), groups IIa element (Sr or Ba) and Cu are used and one of the compound raw materials is used in the form of BaH2, SrH2, YH or CuH. The raw material powders are weighted so as to provide a suitable composition ratio (e.g. Y2O3:BaH2:CuO=1:2:3), blended and then formed into the shape of pellets. The prepared pellets are subsequently heated and calcined in O2 atmosphere to afford the aimed oxide based superconductor.
