Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a pattern yarn of splashed pattern having an excellent handle by coating the partial peripheral face of a traveling yarn with a hot-melt type adhesive, hot pressing a stamping foil against scattered parts of the coated zones and transferring a transfer film to the yarn. CONSTITUTION: A hot-melt type adhesive is applied to the partial peripheral faces of traveling yarns 1, for example, by a roll 5 for applying an adhesive while a great number of yarns 1 to be patterned are advanced by sending rolls 2 and 3. Then a stamping foil 8 is heated and bonded to the yarns by a hot press roll 9. A transfer film is transferred to the scattered parts of the zones coated with the adhesive of the yarns to give yarns of splashed pattern free from stiff handle.
