Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent sticking of restricted shell to a vibrating weir and to prevent cracking caused by the restricted shell by forming molten steel flow hitting to the vibrating weir at lower part of long side weir in molten steel receiver arranged on one pair of rolls by a submerged nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel X is injected into the molten steel receiver 4 from the nozzle 7 and also the vibrating weir 6 is vibrated along the roll surface, and under this condition, the rolls 1 are rotated to (a) direction. By this method, the molten steel X is cooled from lower position at the lower part of the vibrating weir 6 on the roll 1 under condition of receiving the water head (h) to develop the shell Y and continuously drawn, to form a strip. In this case, in the end part of the nozzle 7, a first opening part 8 and a second opening part opening toward the vibrating weirs 6 and short side weirs 3, respectively, are arranged, and the molten steel X injected from the opening part 8 is hit against the vibrating weir 6 and circulated in the molten steel receiver 4 while heating the inner surface of the vibrating weir 6. Therefore, as the restricted shell, which is apt to stick to the vibrating weir 6, is not developed, good shell is stably obtd.
