Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure a bubble point value of a membrane filter accurately, by supplying a gas continuously to the primary side of the membrane filter wetted with a liquid gradually through an orifice. CONSTITUTION:A sample 12 wetted with a distilled water for injection is mounted on a sample mounting frame in a housing 11 holding a measuring sample and, for example, air pressurized is sent from a gas cylinder 13 to be supplied to a primary side chamber 11a of the housing 11 via an automatic valve 14 and an orifice 15. The supply of a compressed air is performed very slowly and continuously with the action of the orifice 15. After 2-3min, atmospheric pressure on the chamber side 11a reaches a bubble point of a membrane filter sample 12, for example, at a supplying speed of 600ml/min. Thus, the highest arrival pressure on the primary side of the membrane filter is observed with a pressure sensor 16 thereby enabling accurate measurement of a bubble point value of the sample 12.
