Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the yield of a red pigment of safflower and enable industrial mass-production of the pigment, by increasing dissolved oxygen content in a culture medium in the culture of cell groups of safflower in a liquid medium. CONSTITUTION:Dissolved oxygen content in a culture medium is increased in the culture of cell groups of safflower in a liquid medium. The liquid medium is preferably added with 0.1-10mM of D-isomer and/or DL-isomer of an aromatic amino acid and 1-5% of a color-development promoting substance.
