Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce an overall dimension of a power steering device by transmitting the torque of an auxiliary steering motor arranged approximately parallel to a rack shaft via a planetary roller speed reduction device to the rack shaft. CONSTITUTION:The torque of an auxiliary steering motor 8 is transmitted via a planetary roller speed reduction device 9 and a bevel gear 32 meshing with an smaller than a larger bevel gear 31 to a steering shaft. The planetary roller speed reduction device 9 consists of a sum roller 90 coaxially fitted over a rotary shaft 80 of the motor 8 and rotating together with the rotary shaft 80, an outer ring 91 arranged coaxially with the rotary shaft 80, a planetary roller 92, and planetary carrier 93. The motor 8 and the planetary roller speed reduction device 9 are attached to an outer side of a rack case 2 with their axes approximately parallel to the axis of a rack shaft 1.
