Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the number of processes and to improve yield by allowing plural head elements to co-posses a common magnetic film as part of respective magnetic paths. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of heads (a), (b) are formed to one head chip and the sections at the A-A' and B-B' planes of the respective heads are disposed in stagger. The upper core 5 of the head (a) and the lower core 2 of the head (b) are constituted of part of the magnetic film 10 in the same manner. The plural head elements co-possess the common magnetic film 10 as part of the respective magnetic paths. The number of processes is thereby decreased and the yield is improved as compared to the case of discretely forming the head elements. The commonly possessed magnetic film is increased in the width of the track direction thereof and, therefore, the maintenance of the magnetic anisotropy having the axis of easy magnetization in this direction is facilitated.
