Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform rapid detection of damage of a rolling bearing and to effect decision of a damage factor and diagnosis of a damage occurring spot, by a method wherein, based on an output signal from a signal level deciding device and an output from a waveform feature deciding device, the presence of the occurrence of abnormality of a rolling bearing is decided. CONSTITUTION:An output from an AE sensor 3 situated to a rolling bearing part 2 is transferred to a signal analyzing evaluating part 7. The level of the amplitude value of a transferred detection signal 10 is decided by a waveform level deciding device 11. Concretely, the level of an average value is calculated, and an average level during normal operation of rolling bearing inputted to the signal analyzing evaluating part 7 is then decided, and a level ratio to that during normal operation is outputted by means of an abnormality deciding device 12. Meanwhile, the detection signal 10 is inputted to a waveform feature deciding device 13, and it is decided whether the inputted detection signal is a continuous type or a sudden type. Namely, by discriminating whether an AE signal generated due to abnormality of the rolling bearing is a continuous type or a sudden type, the factor of abnormality on the rolling bearing can be decided.
