Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A microorganism belonging to Mycobacterium methanolica and capable of assimilating tetramethylammonium salt as a tetraalkylammonium salt. EXAMPLE:Mycobacterium methanolica P-70 (FERM P-9464). USE:A harmful development waste liquid containing a tetraalkylammonium salt and generated in the production process of integrated circuit, etc., can be made harmless with the microorganism. Also useful for the stable production of a fermentation product such as amino acid in high efficiency. PREPARATION:The objective microorganism can be separated from soil by adding a soil sample to a medium containing tetramethylammonium salt and aerobically culturing the soil preferably at 25-40 deg.C and pH 6-8.
